wow exciting stuff. Hope he continues that type of play where he doesnt just settle for the 3 ball and uses that athletic ability(which is probably only 60% of what he had!)

we have a lot of parts that can ball

the way Felton, Douglas, Fields and Walker play together (especially defensively) as a unit of wings Roger Mason isnt going to log another minute all year.

We should hold on to these four guys in our backcourt unless we get a CP3. Our backcourt looks set this early in the season, that's a great feeling.

Not quite. We are still lacking a legit Shooting Guard who can play both ends of the floor.

to me Douglas is the key. He proved last year he could shoot and score in the NBA. He's proving he can play backup PG and play SG as well. His defense is sick. Douglas is 7th in the league right now in steals, and his pressure is causing shot clock violations and a lot of bad passes. Dude's an old school Knick. Loving his game

yeah, i'm loving it, too.

he reminds me of what Bobby Jackson brought to those great Sacramento Kings teams in the early/mid 2000s. instant offense off the bench and great hustle and D.

there are actually quite a few pieces on this team that remind me of those Kings teams...

Amar'e ~ Webber (superstar PF, Webber was more of a playmaker and rebounder though)
Felton ~ Bibby
Fields ~ Christie
Gallo ~ Peja
Toney D ~ Bobby Jackson
Turiaf ~ Pollard

etc. it's kind of a stretch, but we play the same way as that team did in a lot of ways. i'm loving it early on. it'll be a lot of fun to see where this team can take itself and where some of the young guys can take their games.

He's like Joe Dumars or Vinnie Johnson- maybe undersized, but strong on defense and instant offense.

In the play offs, you need guys who can create space for themselves and score. Douglas, I think, can help us win games when it matters most- he is looking like an incredible steal for where & how we drafted him.

Hopefully he returns 90%+. Getting him back healthy will be like making an early to mid-season trade, and we'll have depth and flexibility on our roster that I can't remember us having without resorting to BBreference.com.

Bill Walker's physical demeanor makes it easy to underestimate him- he just seems really laid back, almost like he doesn't care or try- even after what he showed last season, people (like myself) were still assuming his shooting was a fluke and I kind of forgot about him by the time preseason came. But you know, if you look at draft express he showed his good shooting in workouts etc before Boston drafted him. He's a lot better than he gives the impression of being and I'm glad we have him on the team.

TD I'd like even if he wasn't producing like he is- he's tough, and a hell of a hard worker- a real old school Knick, and I hope he has a great year.

He's come a long way from his first SL tour when people around here were crucifying him without giving him a chance to develop.

Funny thing is that the Lakers, who picked him for us- and probably didn't want a #1 that year because of financial considerations, would probably love having him on their roster.

We still lack a perimeter go to guy, but we've had guys stepping up in a collective effort, and that's been huge.

I really dig the way Walker gets to a second level of elevation using his length. He had to hang a long time to get up for his first dunk. Dude is an athlete, no doubt.

SL is crap. My golden boy Majec Lampe owned the SL. Look at Douglas last year as a starter. Dude was awesome. Yes it was meaningless BB but its at least NBA games.

The best part is that Walker is like our #9 guy, and not someone we need to be a major player. The fact that our #9 can be that explosive and athletic in stretches is an indication of the overall athletic ability of the team. If he had to carry a bigger load, he would likely be exposed in his decision making and other aspects. But is nice that he can make emphatic plays when he has the chance.

Wow, did not get to see the game, but Walker's dunks are suprising. Its almost video game like, you really don't expect him to dunk it especially on the first play.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

couple of times I thought he was not going to be able to reach the basket when he took off.

I am not a big fan of his game but this is one in which he seemed to not force the offense. Shot the 3 while open, went to the rim and jammed hard when given space. very nice.
