...seriously, it seems like it's been years regardless of the opponents. A couple of nice games, winning the games you should win is a good start to a new era.

I agree. I am sure it happened but never when winning gave them the opportunity to go over .500.

Breen was saying that our record was 4-14 for the second game last year. Seems like another lifetime

I'd bet that all of those wins came AFTER loses. It's one of those things I remember since Van Gundy split, that the Knicks always seemed to the second game of a back to back, but it was almost guaranteed that they would lose the second game if they lost the first. This making back to backs particularly painful.

Based on what Sang posted that would be impossible. I mean when they played two games in two consecutive days, in case that wasn't clear. I just checked and they did it once last season and twice the season prior, but again I didn't remember those situations. It's a very rare for the Knicks of the last six or so years and likely prior to that as well.

I know this is a different cast than previous years, but I can't shake the feeling that the Knicks will have a classic let down game here. This should be back-to-back-to-back, which is probably why it won't be

UGH God I hope I'm wrong

This is a work in progress. They relaxed and non elite teams will do that. It's not realistic to think this team was gonna waltz thru all the easy games. I hated to watch it, but I had a feeling it would happen. Look at the setup. Early game on Sunday, half empty stadium, awful team in front of them... It's really hard to get amped for a game like this. I HATE sunday afternoon games.

We have to win these games. Philly was 1-5, that's as bad a team as you will get and we couldn't get the job done. We had some good momentum coming in and just gave up all of that in one lousy game. Our team needs confidence and improved attitude, losses like this will not help. They will tend to make these guys slide back to the old identity that we all hope will be eradicated some day.

Seriously to have any playoff hopes you need to beat those teams that your better than, it's that simple. There should be no excuses becuase this should have been a win.

Well it seems like the mantra this season will be " were a very young team". Anything that goes wrong will be chalked up to youth, and if we plan on making the playoffs, thats not going to cut it.

Knicks need to play better. I think thats the first time we saw a real zone and it screwed us up bigtime. Knicks need to make some adjustments.

People around here get so polarized. Knicks lost a game against a team they were probably better than. Youth or inexperience in playing together arent excuses, they are reasons. I dont think anyone is excusing this loss. Knicks need to play better. I expect them to come out strong and beat the Buck tomorrow.

My notion of excuses was based on Felton's piece wherein he talks about how the Sixers got it done and wanted it more. That is a standard excuse from a losing team. This from a team that played the Trailblazers and Celtics hard and was in position to potentially win those games. A team that can do that and go against Philly should NOT lose. I would say flat out that the Knicks are clearly a better team than the Sixers, as opposed to probably better. Again this same youthful team of guys that are just learning how to play together gave a Celtics team that looks like it could be this season's champion (along with a few other teams) a real run for their money and that's a veteran team with lots of experience playing together. Shaq is such a veteran that he'll meld seamlessly into what Doc needs him to do.

I beg to differ. I remember mostly headcoaches saying that, trying to urge the team on. Obviously, it is usually said after a loss, but not as a mantra. Shows good leadership from Felton, imho.
