Ok, I'll admit that as smooth as Allan Houston was, I never appreciated him as much as some other fans.
Maybe it was that he was grossly over-paid. Maybe it was because I was used to the fire and intensity of John Starks. Maybe it was his suspect defense.

But just for a minute, imagine that we had a in-his-prime Allan Houston starting at SG on this squad. He would be the perfect compliment to Amare and the collection of roll players that we have. Chandler would be free to start at SF and be a slasher not a shooter, and move Gallo to the bench until he shows us a little bit more consistency.

This team + H20 = ECF finals.

Imagine Ewing at Center next to Amare! That would be a freaking dominant front court. Yeah, Houston would give us an outside shooter but we would have the same problems on the defensive end. And Ewing can score in the paint. Imagine Ewing!

Aside from now asking for the moon, I'm not sure Ewing and Amare compliment each other well. They have very similar games, and both need the ball to be effective. Amare need a great complimentary perimeter player, which while we have potential there, don't have at the moment.

Imagine Clyde at pg - running the offense, driving to the hoop, hitting his outside shot and playing great d. What was that song by the Everly Brothers?

Having Bernard King at SF would kind of fill things out on our starting 5.

I think we're pretty good at SF. We got Chandler very solid, with Gallo backing him up.
Having a lights out steady shooter at SG would round us out perfectly.

What about our Knicks dream team!! (I thought that was where this thread was heading.)

No, this is an Allan Houston circle jerk thread. Because we don't care about defense, just jump shooting clowns that quit on the other side of the floor. Lets put Stephon Marbury in with Allan Houston and Amare! Unstoppable.

Coming from a guy who had a mancrush on Eddue Curry. lmao. Don't worry, you were one of a number of people on this board.

I said I was wrong about Curry but I guess you would rather not remember that. Whatever bro. You're the one with the man crush, ALLANfan20!

Gallo could make a pretty good H20 impersonation, i think. Just needs to get a bit more consistent with his outside shot. I also really liked what BRIGGS said, about him developing a mid-range shot ala Dirk. That way, when they are covering him tight beyond the arc, he can drive it in and shoot a nice 12 footer all day.
