Hello members of the UK forum,

My name is Dan Miranda and I am the man behind Knicks Vision. Last night I reported that the Knicks would potentially get Melo and as you obviously know, they didn't. I tend to frequent the UK forums (lurking) more than RealGM, ESPN, and Pro Sports Daily and wanted you guys to know that I am truly sorry for my ill-advised journalism.

I stand by what I did, but if you don't view me a site you would like to go to in the future, I can understand that. Although I reported just what I heard from people who have knowledge of the situation - and added in my own opinion - my site got wrecked, ripped, and spat on. But that's all part of the business, I get that.

Hope I didn't let anyone down either if they expected more from me (mention this because someone compared me to Isola). I know I read this from Martin a couple of days ago and wanted to thank him:

We added KnicksVision blog about 2-3 weeks ago or something. Damn energetic 15 year old is giving me more info than Berm and Isola. Apparently cutting class to do it too LOL

Well thanks for the shout-out, Martin.

Anyone who has seen Knicks Vision and passed it along (Ultimate Knicks) has helped to give me a voice and for that, I'm tremendously appreciative.

Like I mentioned, I believe this is one the top Knicks forum out there. I hope I didn't lose too many of you guys last night.

Feel free to drop any questions about the site or the post last night here. Thanks for taking the time out to read; hope to hear your comments and critiques of Knicks Vision in the future. :)

All the best,
Dan

I think you are doing a great job with your blog and your passion is very apparent. I wouldn't guess your age from reading what you write. Your opinions and writing do not appear to be naive (i.e. you are not suggesting wild trade ideas). The Knicks are going hard after Melo and you weren't the only one to report it. Keep up the good work. Everyone learns from experience and mistakes.

Take it from me as a guy on Forums that has been straight RIPPED for my support of the team. Don't apologize for you honest opinion or what you feel was the right call. People want to bring up my past predictions as if i was the only one who felt that way or that it matters that the team didn't live up to those predictions. It's called an "educated guess"!!! Most of the time that's all we can give unless we have it confirmed in which case you would be quoting some one or some official announcement, like a parrot. In this game when you're trying to read the tea leaves you're bound to get egg on your face. Heck the pros almost NEVER get anything right and yet they keep on working for the papers or media outlets they're with.

SCREW EM!!! Write what you believe and stand tall. I feel this team is gonna be a big winner this year and that's based on my own research and observation of the make up of this team. I've got a rationale for why I feel that way as I always do. You feel strongly that you've got something cooking go ahead and write it. Don't apologize when you know you've put in the work to give the best GUESS you can like just about everyone else in this game. Anyone apologize for getting the Lebron decision wrong?

Don't worry about it too much kid. I think people were just having a little fun with you for the most part. Even guys like Sheridan and Broussard get mixed info from sources (see the Lebron spectacle). It just means that you're next entry has to twice as tight.

ESPN throws crap out there all the time and they make a good 6 figure salary for doing it. Just throw what you feel is going to happen with the research you do and something might stick.

you don't get ripped because of your support for the team... you get ripped because you're usually wrong... like almost all the time... then you turn around & rip other people for not sharing in your line of thinking that's based on nothing but blind optimism... but hey, you got a right to express your opinion just like anyone else does... that's what forums are for... it's when you start ripping people that criticize the team for things they've obviously gotten wrong that people have an objection with.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Randa,

Blogs, tweets and writers chiming in 24/7 have diluted the art of weekly columns. The market is filled with information or attempts at is.

Not to beat you down, but what can you offer other than regurgitated content?

Good luck in your endeavors and keep writing! It's cool to take a stab at the trade and "break the story" but did you have a line on it or just guess?

Would have made a name for your self.

Don't quit your day job (stay in school)

+1 to what Nalod said about the timing nature of these things. I didn't know there was a rumor until after it already happened and was proven false. The first I heard of it, was the apology that it was wrong. All this leads me to believe it is really a way to get Knicksvision as well as Dan Miranda, more notoriety. Mission accomplished on that end. Whether intended or not. But no more apologies going forward. Knicksvision is your brand. You bought it some free publicity. Now don't diminish the brand with any more mea culpas. Or fishy rumors.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Hey Dan.

I only recently became aware of your blog from someone cross-posting a reference here. Big ups (respect) that you're only 15 and getting your voice out there. Don't give up. You don't need to be the scooper to draw an audience. You just need to write well (it's a craft), project your personal voice (develop a writing style) and present your views clearly. Details always help demonstrate the depth of your understanding and solid sources add legitimacy. But scoops are only valuable for media companies, because they have overhead. You don't need to make a living at 15, just get your writing noticed.

I'll check you out again down the road. Keep on keepin' on. Ninety percent of success is showing up (i.e., diligence and perseverance). And keep lurking at UK, there are some well-written and insightful posts here on occasion and always a stimulating debate. The next few years should be a hopeful and exciting time for the Knicks beat and maybe even a time of maximum celebration for us beleaguered fans.

"you're 15" don't pollute his writing

Wouldn't report it unless I actually heard it from someone who would have information. Don't like the belittlement, but hey, maybe I deserve(d) it.

The apology was due to being wrong and providing false info. I felt bad, and I'm sorry if you have a problem with that.

My point was, you only get one apology. it shouldn't become a habit. hurts your brand.

Won't be going around every second apologizing, but for the most part I disagree.
