I know people will say the Heat will be the most exciting but I disagree. I believe the Knicks will be as fun to watch as D'Antoni's Phoenix Sun's teams were, We have size, youth and athletisim at every position and guys that can play multiple positions. Raymond Felton is going to be the engine in this run n gun offense and I feel he's more than capable. The Knicks will make the playoffs and make some noise I have no doubt.

I love the Knicks and hate The Lyin' King but even I will admit I would be more excited to watch the Heat's season-opener rather than the Knick's opener.

Is that so bad? I only want to see LeDouche when it's time for Amare to destroy the fire nation.

u don't have to give up love of the sport for love of team. when the knicks were hot in the 90's i still loved watching the bulls perform their unique high-quality version of the game.

Yes....but that original post I commented on was "wanting to watch the Heat's opener MORE THAN wanting to watch the Knicks opener." Not for me.

I sort of agree with you on this. I did enjoy watching the Jordan Bull's play; as well as the Bird Celtics; and even more, the Bill Russell Celtics when I was a kid. I learned how to play basketball from them.

I just don't like/despise how Miami's 3 came together and won't support them. I agree that it would be interesting to watch them, not for the joy of seeing their strengths but analyzing their game and looking for their weaknesses and how to beat them.

The only reason I will watch them is to see them lose.

They are one of the reasons I am getting League Pass Broadband again (have no cable), but I will probably watch many other teams- especially those with certain rookies or second year players, before I watch them.

I'm sorry, they don't have the shooters to be the most-exciting-team-to-watch. This style is only fun to watch if they're draining shots. The athleticism will be fun, but I don't particularly enjoy watching a team miss a ton of distance shots either

It's an assumption that this team will be jackin long shots and missing them. For one thing, you can expect more breaks and early offense from this team. We didn't run the last 2 years, cuz Duhon couldn't and wouldn't do it. That won't be the case this year. We have an overall faster team and actually have more shooting once AZ is healthy. Mason also adds to that list. Still the spreading of the floor is to open up the middle for easier scores. Taking the 3 is a big part of it since that threat has to be real, but it doesn't mean you have to always take the 3.

History shows that the Suns have been a highly efficient team. mainly cuz they run the system right. We should be able to get closer to that this year since we'll be running more of the fast pace early offense that makes this such an efficient system to begin with. We haven't seen SSOL since Mike has been here. That's why this team will end up being one of the more exciting teams to watch. I think we'll be 2nd only to the Heat in the East.

I couldn't agree more....we have no real perimeter threats in a offense structured for outside shooting.
When folks were critisizing DW for showing so much interest in rudy, it was baffling to me why people would not waant this kid on our roster..he is a perfect fit...an athletic lights out shooter.

We will be exciting no doubt, but the lack of shooters will hurt big time

its a concern. A huge part of the SSOL is kicking to an open guy. Douglas and Gallo are pretty good shooters. After that its pretty much a crap shoot. Felton's ok. Hopefully we make up for it with athleticism because we certainly have guys who can finish

Yeah that's the whole Idea. We don't have to actually shoot those long shots. You also have the option of faking and driving past that defender who comes running out to defend that 3. We will see that more this year than in the past. More importantly we'll see more fastbreak offense and more high % shots going up via the early offense, because we'll be pushing the pace more and attacking teams before they get set. People forget that this is how the offense ends up being so efficient. The open 3's start really finding success when the other team starts to feel the effects of so many full speed trips down the court and they start failing to get out to our open 3pt shooters.

YOU MUST RUN to set that up. We haven't run the last 2 years and as such teams could more easily defend our 3's. If and when AZ is healthy he could push our shooting over the top. I'm hopeful that he makes a full recovery. When you run and teams are worried about Amare, Chan, AR etc. attacking the rim they will more often than not fail to defend Gallo, Felton, TD, AZ and Mason. These guys can shoot well enough to make this offense work. Don't believe the media when they say we don't have enough shooting.

look... they will run. But if the spot up shooters cant knock down the open long range looks then it kills your fast break because whoever gets back just packs the paint and dares you to beat them with jumpers.

To be fair the good Suns teams certainly had some volume scorers. I think Q took like 600 threes and shot about 35%.

We will see. I haven no doubts this can be a good team, but I look at it on paper and we have no SGs and the shooting is limited

We could start 12-4 and we'll still hear this Carmelo Anthony BS even thought we have a nice team that well get better. Hopefully we can get past these shenanigans.

The Suns have been a favorite of mine for some time. Watching Nash orchestrate his game has been highly entertaining. Amare's finishing pick and role dunks are great.

I give Gentry lots of credit for restoring MDA's game back on the team.

Regarding Felton, I have mixed feelings. Having watched the Bobcats the last few years and in Larry's system I can' say he is going to be that free wheeling as Nash, but lets not kid ourselves thinking Felton is a MVP cadidate now. Solid player he is and a very good pick up.

Gallo is the big factor here if he can become a 20+ppg player. We have seen what he can do last season. He came on later in the year and got more consistant over the year.

Next level we can hope.

For now, its kool aid time to drink and be hopeful. Why not, 10 new players and lots of potential.

The Knicks will be the NBA's most exciting team to watch this season
