11. Danilo Gallinari(notes), New York Knicks (last year: unranked)
New York's brightest and bestest (until Amar'e Stoudemire(notes) came along) wasn't even close to being ranked last year after he struggled through a gimpy rookie season. While I have some issues regarding his shot selection and overall play during his second year, I can't discount someone at this age (he turned 22 a few weeks ago) scoring this much (about 15 a game). The guy has major holes in every other area of his game, and averaging six 3-point attempts per 33 minutes of play last season is out and out wrong, but there's potential here if Danilo wants to put in the work.

Just imagine what this kid will do when he's actually getting the ball passed to him on a regular basis and he can get involved in more areas of the court this year. He was starting to get more confident going to the hole. I expect he'll keep adding to his game this year and get up over 15 a game easily. I think he can avg. 18-20 with a starters number of shots.

Walsh had a very good point about guys like Douglas, Chandler and Gallo. He said if people ever saw these guys play with superior talent that they would be impressed by how good they are. Looking forward to seeing them play with an all star big man and a PG who defends AND passes the ball

what's wrong with him averaging 6 3pt attempts per game? The way he shoots it, and given our coach and offense, he probably should be putting up 10.

Kid is 22, does not mind paying NY state tax, we don't need to ship out another pick, we can keep Wilson and AR and he is still 5 years from his prime!

worth giving another look. Potential is intriguing.

It has risks. So does Melo.

If he was not a knick we'd be talking about how we could trade for him and arguing what to use as trade bait.

I think we should all be pretty happy with what we have right now.

No reason to gut the team for 1 star player. We need to build around this core. Gallinari should stay in NY, he is going to be a big piece of the puzzle.

The only player I would take over Gallo is Durant. I hate the Queen and I like Gallo's ceiling to Anthony's current state.

At least Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler made the list. UK Hero Anthony Randolph isn't even listed above JJ Hickson or Taj Gibson, yet some wouldn't trade him for Carmelo Anthony, who is ranked 2nd. WOW ...

I'm thinking of the cooks who keep saying, it needs more salt...before they taste the meal. We're 2 months away from anything. Let's see what we got.

That's a very good point. We have a number of promising young players, who could step up this season. In Gallo's case, this will be the first off-season that he had a chance to work on his game.

If 2/3 of your shots are 3 pointers, you start to get looked at as a one demenssional player.

Ask anybody around you who occasionally watches the knicks, and bring up gallo's name, see how they look at him..Ask any NBA fan who is not a knicks fan, and see what they..

He already has that label

Anyone who watches more than a couple of our games knows differently. Anyone who plays against him knows differently. Anyone who coaches against him knows differently.

I'm not saying what his ranking as a SF is, but somebody obviously saw enough of him to decide that he is just about in the upper third of SFs in the league, and that should tell you that some people recognize Gallinari's development.

I agree with you guy's, but I also thinks he takes to many 3's, I mean, he had games when he took 16 attemps, thats crazy, unless he was blazing hot from out there.

Q rich shot a record 631 3pta under his one year with MDA when he was with the suns, prior to that, he took 340..
or less with the clips and knicks.

MDA will let you stand out there and hoist up a million 3's, but he doesn't discouraging taking it to the hole either. It's up to the player to make that decsion, and if no one's sweating the attemps, whats to stop the player from taking them

if he hits 3-pointers at a 40% clip, he can take as many as he damn well pleases, as far as I'm concerned.

So what was Reggie Miller most famous for? I think it's just part of the kids back issues and lack of time to properly prepare for last season. He had to start off slow and build, which he did. There's no way he could really work on any post game stuff cuz his back wasn't ready for all of that. Now he could actually work on his core strength and explosion and i'm sure he's been developing the other aspects of his game. The 3 will always be a big part of his game, but he's got more shots in his bag and we should see that as he continues in his career.
