If Amare becomes Antonio Mcdyess pt 2... say goodbye to Mello , CP3.. all that. It will be allan houston all over again.

we need to protect Amare at all costs.

his health is EVERYTHING

That's the main worry- especially considering the Suns knew the most about his knees and medical info and were so against giving a fourth and fifth year. However thats the good thing about having Randolph- he acts as insurance in case Amar'e goes down, so we're not completely screwed. A team always needs to have some solid and promising young players, who are improving while the older stars decline, so it balances out- look at Boston the last few years when Rondo and Glen Davis were making up for the vets decline.

Yes it was a gamble signing Amar'e, but at some point every team has to take such a gamble, and there's no way of guaranteeing anything- sometimes it works out fine, and sometimes it blows up in your face, and this can happen even if the player has no injury history- remember Amar'e had just signed his first max deal and then had to have the surgery. If Amar'e can hold up for 3 years then we should be okay- by then we'll hopefully have added or developed another star.

Can't really worry about injury. It's such a fluke thing sometimes. His knees have not been a problem since the operation from all indications. He must be doing things right. They give athletes a list of things to do to minimize the risk of recurrance. Kidd was another guy who has been able to comeback and have an extended career despite microfracture surgery.

wasn't his injury in 2005? haven't his knees been fine since then? with his only missed games being due to his eye injury? after all, we are talking about a player who just played 82 games, 35 minutes/per. 23 points, 9 boards, 56%. and we've posted videos of his top 10 monter dunks of 2010.

Yes he's been good since his injury, so there is no reason to believe his risk is that much greater than any other player in the league. Another thing i like about him is unlike players like Bosh and Wade, he plays 82 games per year when he doesn't have a major injury and isn't one of those players who is always out 10-15 games per year with small injuries.

aw why'd you have to ruin an otherwise good post? dwade the last 2 years has played 79 and 77 games, 39 and 36 mins/per, shooting 10 and 9 ft's per game. just throwing himself into every play. dude's played 75+ games 4 out of his 7 seasons. he’s had some pretty significant injuries because of his style of play and come back strong from all of them.

For the time being yes, but Walsh is going to get Melo or someone else with the cap space to share the load. Its not like he is going to carry the team by himself beyond this upcoming season.

Agree that we are FUBAR if Amare's knees goes. Not sure what exactly you can do to protect his knees other than trying not to ride him for 40 minutes over 82 games.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Amar'e Stoudemire's knees haven't been an issue for years so I think he'll be fine and productive. The future of our franchise really comes down to if we can trade for Carmelo Anthony.

So if Raymond Felton has a nice year, Chandler plays well and Gallo and AR turn into solid players with the ability to add another max free agent I think this team is more than fine regardless of what happens to Amare.

I'm actually stunned more people aren't giving the Knicks a little love for what they did in the offseason. Felton is a huge upgrade, Amare is a better player then Lee, we added bench scoring, defense and some toughness.

The Hawks are terrible I don't care what any so called expert says. He owned them last year and we are only getting better. The Bucks added Gooden and Maggette? The Bobcats lost talent, The Raptors, Nets and Cavs aren't going any where.

We are fine. For the first time in about 6 years you can actually say that.

Dude...WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING? The future of our franchise revolves around a player that's not even on our roster?

I'll be psyched if Melo comes, but I certainly don't think it's make or break for the Knicks. You are a star-phucker in the mold of Isaiah Thomas. Truly...
