no, i don't think so, not alone. he needs a better supporting cast than just 3pt shooter like allan, kieth, penny. the knicks need to bring in a low post precense that is also a dominant defensive player. they need better deffense on good perimeter players than the deffense that houston providers, a guy like bowen is what they need. they need to get a good swing man to compliment steph's passing abilities. not guys like kurt, doleac, mutombo, who have no hands, because they can hardly catch those bullet passes that steph throws at them.
the knicks also need to bring in some veteran leadership that san antonio had with robinson and the lakers had with guys like harper. a vocal leader is necessary for a team to just light some fire into them. the knicks miss guys like lj and oak and starks.
the knicks have to get tough minded and start not let up when their opponent is down. that is what they need and i hope isiah gets it
FRANK WILLIAMS should be an allstar. The BEST knick this season!

Not with the team now...but add the things you mentioned and it could come true. I agree we are weak in the area of finishing big men. Deke is sooo slow around the basket on offense.

BTW, as someone else mentioned in another thread it would be easier to read your posts if you used capitals where needed and broke up your paragraphs more.

Marbury came here to sell tickets and upgrade our pg position because we had a young one in Frank Williams already.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

We will win an NBA title within 3 years. When STARBURY and the Knicks do that, he'll sell even more tickets.

Comparing Frank Williams to Starbury in any area- sheer skill, marketing strength, experience, leadership potential, etc. is no contest. Starbury ranks as one of the best in the NBA at his position.

If we have to trade Frank to help get us stronger in the low post, then so be it.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Marbury will eventually bring that championship to NY. He's only 26 years of age and now have Lenny Wilkins and Isiah, two of the greatest pgs of their time to help him become a true floor general and leader..

That is correct, it may not be with this team but Isiah wil be making more changes in the near future. Hey Isiah won two championships without a dominant big man. Like someone said previously, they need a finishing big man that provides results in the 4th quarter. I don't know if Rasheed is that guy..

Read the thread, sherlock. YOU were the one who brought up Frank (as always).

Next time you want to open your mouth about someone else staying on topic, look in the mirror first. Do us all that favor, Playa/Nalod/Bobby. BTW, how many names have you made up since the truth about those others was EXPOSED? LOL

Now he's on the Knicks. He always wanted to play here. He'll win a title with the Knicks within 3 years. Deflect that.

I keep thinking that you are comparing Frank and Marb.

No one has won without a big man named Shaq or Duncan.

hey guys! the bottomline is, the knicks need marbury to become the player that mj was, thomas himself was, bird was, magic was. get his teams playing well and step up his playing ability in the biggest of momments. mj, thomas, bird, magic, wanted to win so badly that they became leaders and didn't let up on their teammates till they got to playing at the level of greatness as a team. if marbury wants to become a champion, those are the exact things he needs to do, he has a great example looking after him.

i think marbury is a good enough point guard to build around. if we get the two or three piecews we need ( athletic wing, a very good post up player), i think we will be in the championship hunt within two years.

playa, you just make no sense, to say we just brought marbury in here to sell tickets is stupid, I like frank but frank should not be mentioned in the same breath as steph. Frank will be good one day but marbury is a star player. Now with that being said he does need a inside presence to play alongside him and zeke will get him that one way or another, but playa, you are really sounding foolish with your lopsided post..

TKF stop with your star gazing point of view. He is an all-star but we won't win it all with him. Proof is in he has been traded 4 times and that iss all I need to know!

Thomas wants a championship. But he first had to make playoffs for Dolan.

To win a championship u need a franchise player. Marbury is definatly that. The only thing that has kept Marbury below reaching another level was his imature behavior in the past. But he has seemed to have grow a lot.

I don't know if Marbury will win a championship with the Knicks in his time here. But I do know its going to be real fun watching them try.

No they don't. That's unrealistic. As good as he was, Isiah wasn't as good as Magic, Bird or Jordan.

What they need to do is to surround Marbury with talent.
