Michael Kay ESPN Exclusive that will "blow your socks off"

1050 ESPN Radio Michael Kay......summary....

Teased listeners today about something that would "blow your socks off" if you're a Knicks fan.
Kay says multiple sources have told him:

1. What the Knicks have done and what they continue to do Isiah Thomas is actively involved working back streets. He was active in free agency and trades.

2. Allan Houston will get the Job for GM but not Isiah because of the public relations nightmare it would cause.

3. According to sources that support Isiah is that today's young African American players respect and relate to him.

4. Paul deal: Isiah Thomas gave Demps his job with the knicks, so he is very tight with him. Demps would be receptive to what Isiah would have to say.

5. No one is untouchable on the Knicks team. The three players the Knicks traded for cant be traded together.

6. It seems like Dolan really likes Thomas and he is a power broker, and has Dolans ear.

7. Kay says you got to think that Walsh and Danphoney are not very comfortable with this situation.

8. Isiah Thomas thinks that he got Amare to come here, and that Lebron would have come to the Knicks if he was more involved earlier in the process.

9. Dolan was not affected at all by the Anucha situation.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Isiah Gate? Is this really that important at this point? I could care less what they decide to do with Isiah. I already knew that Dolan loved Isiah and so did Walsh. I doubt D'Antoni likes Isiah's involvement, except when he helps to bring in a good player, otherwise it undercuts his own authority, so it's a catch 22 for MDA. As for us, we can't control what Dolan allows to people to do. If he wants to bring in his old buddy Isiah to help, is there anything we can do about it? So why even get all worked up about it. All I know is that Isiah could only do what he did with Dolan's permission.

I like what they've done with the team and we'll see what they do from here, but as a team they've accomplished a good deal and have a chance to do even more. I don't like how Isiah handled things when he was running the team in his last 2 years, but he also has some key strengths and it seems they want to take advantage of those strengths. It's just business.

i'm trying to understand what is too good to be true? the knicks were good to you? funny, you don't make posts about the knicks being good. you makes posts about how knicks fans are gonna cry in reaction to lebron's announcement, or how chris bosh is going to be a monster. so what exactly was too good to be true? you weren't lauding the current regime. you weren't "giving them so much credit." so what? now that isiah is in charge you wanna give credit? i am embarrassed to have even entered into a dialogue with you.

I was a little worried when the Knicks hired Walsh because I thought he was the canidate for the job that would allow Isiah to stay on in some role. I believe at the time there was some speculation that Jerry West might consider coming to NY and he was never interviewed. The Knicks need to move on from Isiah. He was the leader of the team when the Knicks were the most dysfunctional team in sports. The problems that came up under Isiah's reign should have finished him as a professional in the NBA in my opinion.

Let me give you a rundown:

1. Plays is a big conspiracy theorist.

2. Playa is an Isiah fan.

3. Playa heavily dislikes D'Antoni and Walsh.

4. Playa is a part-time racist on the weekends.

Put it all together and this news from Michael Kay is like Christmas Eve for Playa.

I remembered you saying that crushalot about Isiah would stay on in some capacity. Now the truth be told he's Still pulling strings for us. So far we are going in the right direction.

Now the question will be for the future who will have more Juice POWER with Dolemite Allan Houston or Isiah Thomas ?

...full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

By the way- if you listen to Kay for any length of time when he talks about basketball, you will know very quickly that he knows little of the game itself- almost embarrassingly so.

I guess I'm alone with this, but I think bringing Isiah back is a good idea. He's the only guy who has an eye for talent, and a connection with todays NBA stars.

The problem wasn't Isiah....It was Dolan giving Isiah too much power, without a defined task that fits his skill set.

I see no problem with Isiah as a players scout / player relations type guys. In some kind of consulting role!

He gave jerome james 30M based on a 1 game playoff performance
Gave jared jeffries around the same amount.
Then traded away ariza (who blossomed with kobe)

Thanks but no thanks, keep him away from the garden coaching a terrible college.

This is what I judge Isiah on:

Seasons W-L
2004–05: 33-49
2005–06: 23-59
2006–07: 33-49
2007–08: 23-59

Players acquired:

Jerome James
Jared Jeffries
Jamison Brewer
Bruno Sundov
Jermaine Jackson
Ime Udoka
Maurice Taylor
Malik Rose
Vin Baker
Zach Randolph
Jamal Crawford
Stephon Marbury
Eddy Curry
Fred Jones
Antonio Davis
Tim Thomas
Cezary Trybanski
Penny Hardaway
Steve Francis
Channing Frye
Renaldo Balkman
Mardy Collins
Demetris Nichols
Jackie Butler
Moochie Norris
Quentin Richardson
Qyntel Woods
Jalen Rose
Kelvin Cato
Randolph Morris
DerMarr Johnson
Nate Robinson

I really hate it when people try to give Isiah Thomas a break. WHY? What the hell did he do here that was so good? He left behind Lee and Chandler. That's it. 5 f'ing seasons and he left behind 2 decent to good players while trading away half his draft picks and overpaying the likes of Jeffries, Jerome and Curry. I blame him for that list because he acquired those players. Just like when people insulted Walsh for acquiring Roberson and the likes. Isiah signed, traded and drafted those players. Did he have a few good players along the way? Sure, but even a blind squirrel can find a nut.

Isiah's "eye for talent" is severely overrated. What he does have is the impeccable will to lose. He sucks ass now and sucked ass then. He has sucked in everything he has been involved in since his retirement as a player. Pathetic tenure with the Toronto Raptors and the CBA and a mediocre at best tenure with the Indiana Pacers as coach. Then he comes here and ****s the bed. Once he's fired he goes to FIU and proceeds to do absolutely nothing to raise their level of play, despite his basketball "genius" and "eye for talent". He is a LOSER since his retirement. I want to win.

Isiah has a lot of issues. He fits the profile of a sociopath. He attempted suicide and said that it was his daughter. He went after guys on his team and tried to end their careers and make them scapegoats. He called out the fans, and minimally is on tape being racially insensitive and a chauvenistic. He treated coaches like crap. His treatment of Don Chaney was heartless. He fired all of Lenny Wilkens assistants and left Lenny to eventually leave on his own. He was not a good guy in NY. Maybe it was based on his huge ego but he did a lot of damage. Chasing the flavor of the month high salary character flawed former superstar put the Knicks in a horrible position. I am really excited about the current roster and I am glad Isiah is not around or a part of it. Isiah needs to shoot for reaching the plateau of 8 wins next year with FIU and avoid sexual harrassment lawsuits and statements that offend people because of their racial, or gender content. Enough with this guy. The Knicks seem to be headed in a positive direction two years after his reign ended.
