alot rides on this season for the knicks and they have improved the roster much but i still dont see 52 wins - define 'tweaks' that would get them there? ECF when you have orlando, boston and miami is a bit of a stretch no?

Eastern Conference Finals ? Against who, Miami I'm assuming ?

So I guess Orlando, Boston, Atlanta, and Chicago are just going to tank for the lottery?

yeah, i'd like to know what your tweaks would be too.

ECF? I am hopeful and usually optimistic but IMHO Gallo and Buike and Timofey would have to all have very good years for their respective experience/potential.

I suspected you were quietly pleased with these off season moves! I hope this team works out, I really do, though there are a lot of uncertainties and I don't want to jinx it by proclaiming it's all going to work out (though as you said during the Lebron thing, "you can't jinx fact!" ).

What I like about this team is it's heart, something we've lacked the past decade. I've been watching the 1999 playoffs vs the Pacers, and you know if you look at the knicks back then on paper their players stats aren't great, the team didn't look great on paper with 2 SG Spree and Houston, and the mish mash of half court, full court players, but what really propelled them was their heart and team chemistry. I think Amar'e has that kind of heart and determination to excel, as does Gallo, Felton and Turiaf. I think Chandler has Houston's kind of attitude and demeanor and I hope AR brings Camby's fire too. And even Douglas, although he isn't really a PG, he just seems to have that ability to do stuff to win games.

You know, regardless of how well we do it'll just be nice to have players you really can root for, who bring a bit of fire and competitiveness and can actually make some effort to play defence- I mean how many players have we really had like that over the past decade? I think 52 wins is a bit optimistic, mainly because this team will need time to "gel" (yes I'm going for the full 1999 nostalga!) and also for golden state players to work their way back after not really playing last season, and for AR and Gallo (and Chandler, and Mosgov too) to have a bit of time to develop too.

I would love to meet the Heat in the first round of the playoffs- probably won't happen, but i just want us to beat them so bad!

We're a 35-40 win team at best.

At this point I stay with my prediction of 45-50, and I expect that we will come on strong at the end of the year as the team begins to gel. All of this assumes that we have no major injuries and Azubuike becomes a fully functioning SG like he was pre-injury.

I like the positive vibes, Briggs, but I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you think we can win 52 and reach the ECF...

...Of course this is one instance where I will be more than happy if next year you are able to gloat about being correct on this prediction and rub it in my face.

you can't be serious about 35 wins (unless you are predicting massive injuries).

Knicks had 32 wins 2 years ago and were a much much worse team.

I have no idea about russian C --if we get upside we get upside

the more i look at his team the more it reminds me of 60+ win sun team with more size. 6-10 along the frontline will be brutal for teams to match up with---it's all about the extra tweaks---a little more shooting and either additions or stepping up from the bench. in the ec it s going to be 50+ wins

I have predicted around 30 for many years.

Briggs, that Suns team was ran by a Hall of Fame caliber PG. We have Raymond Felton.

The youth worries me. Young teams (our oldest player is 27) don't usually win.

35 is a lot more accurate than 52, that's for sure.
