Delicate subject, he should of just said that it wasn't the end of the world if they lost a few games now and then and not brought up the WTC.

stupid reference & probably shoulda used a different analogy, but his point is people will make a big deal whenever they lose games next year because of all the expectations & hype leading up to putting that whole team together... it's true, they will be held to a different standard than the rest of the NBA teams & well they should... they knew this would happen going in, so if he's saying this to set up protection barriers for future criticisms that he knows will be coming their way, he gets no sympathy from me or most other NBA fans.

This wasn't a good look Nalod no matter how you try to downplay it. Fanhouse wouldn't have went through 2 stages of re-editing his comments if they didn't truly realize the ramifications of the insensitivity from comment made.

For those that think the comment isn't out of line or a big deal - please remember that after 9/11 movies with the wtc in it had the buildings edited out and songs that mentioned it were bleeped. It is a very sensitive subject and a comment like this goes to show how quickly this country forgets.

I think he needs to apologize.

He is drawing a comparison by which he feels people are over reacting as of was a tragic event.

While it's not my first choice of words but I could see people are over reacting and spewing huge hate his way as if he did something evil.

I'm not a big fan of Wade at the moment, but I think he was trying to come up with something terrible to make a point, and unfortunately 911 was the first thing that came to his mind.

If we were all quoted everyday, most of us here would sound like a-holes too. When in fact, only some of us are a-holes.

Now, if he makes the same reference in the future, I'll rescind these words and hope for him to be snapped in half the first time he drives to the basket!
