this is more of a clip to big up Jeremy Lin's play...but still his play doesn't lie. His handle is official. He splits the defense...shows the ability to hit the baby jumper that Clyde loves...and can make thread the needle passes. Kid is a true point guard and is going to be a major steal for whoever signs him...probably Dallas.

One of my favorite players in this draft.

btw, Chris Webber almost ****s himself in this clip

I would love for this kid to somehow find his way to New York. Absolute gem of talent. Cuban will be insane not to sign this guy.

Not to mention the love of the large Asian community who would be buying Lin merchandise. He's a Starks type of player--perfect for NYC--he can play this game and he would be exciting.

The Flushing Area of Queens would adolize this dude. Asian Americans are playing ball...I'm waiting to see our first Arab/Indian american have a breakout career and reach the NBA. I'm seeing the courts in Flushing filled with kids going at it.

A "neocommunity pick," so to speak. Maybe Donnie can hire Interbrand to do a LeBron-like presentation for him about the benefits of coming east again.

He does look good, though.

What's dope about the clip is that Jeremy was taking John off the dribble at will...used the picks he was getting to perfection...instead of going around the defender he splits the defense at will. That's hard to master as a pg starting out and it seems like he has that move down pat. He's also a patient defender...doesn't reach and doesn't fall for head fakes and stays down. He tied up wall twice in this clip for jumpballs instead of fouling....very impressive pg.

Can't see us getting him- don't even think we asked him in for a workout. Supposedly he is having talks with 3 teams- one in the Eastern Conference. Don't think we are that team- Donnie said today that the position we might be looking at in terms of additions- is SG.

Looks like a very crafty classical PG- surprised that EVERYONE, not just the Knicks, missed him on draft night.

Briggs- I know you mentioned him prior to the draft- its just that the Knicks have not yet tendered you an offer to become their GM.

pri·or [prahy-er]

–adjective

1. preceding in time or in order; earlier or former; previous: A prior agreement prevents me from accepting this.

Prior, as a word, does seem to express what I wanted to say.

I have to say I'm impressed. He's a very versatile and smart point guard.

Great Ira. You've changed your mind since our conversation last nite. Now, how do we get him?

It's kind of hard for me to give you much props Briggs...you have mentioned so manyI feel you use the scatter gun technique. Still you were first to point him out IIRC and dead on with him. In this game you see a schooled senior vs a frosh talent. In time Wall may have far more physical skill which is what everyone wants and adores. But it is not all about athletecism. As Nash and others prove over and over.

As for the big's...Alabi over JJ5. He spreads the floor with that shooting touch and would have been a great fit. Perhaps one day a great center. Time will tell. JJ certainly could prove affective... in about 5 years.

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

i mean, he is a good find 6 months prior to the draft. But come on man, so intellectual honesty here, you also said just prior to the draft that you didn't see him getting drafted (or flat out wouldn't draft him) cause of lack of athleticism.

Palladin55 - sometimes you gotta do the research before you make assumptions. According to this interview on NBADraft.net, the Knicks had Lin in for a Pre draft workout

Good find, Mr Earl.
Jeremy Lin: I have worked out with the Thunder, Lakers, Knicks, Grizzlies, Spurs, and a few others before the draft. I have worked out primarily against shorter and supposedly faster players in these workouts.

NBADraft.net: How do you feel you performed in those workouts?

Jeremy Lin: I feel I performed well in all of them. I think my top two workouts were the Grizzlies and Thunder (given the fact I came straight off a red-eye flight).

NBADraft.net: When working in these NBA workouts what position have you played?

Jeremy Lin: I have been working out as a point guard.

The more recent article said there were 3 teams interested in Lin.....Dallas, Lakers and an Eastern Division team. We're the only Eastern Division team he worked out for that he specifically listed. Maybe there is a chance of Lin signing here. His chances of playing are much greater here than Dallas(Kidd, Barea, Beaubois, Jason Terry) or Lakers (Derek Fisher and Steve Blake)
