No one is beating this team for the next 5 years unless there is a miracle. They are going to walk around swiping solid role players for the minimum hell I see Kobe dropping off Cs are old Magic are flawed only injury will stop the heat

I have to admit, I missed the feeling of hating the Heat. Feels comfortable and familiar, liking sleeping in your own bed

Wade and Bosh are injury prone- that is the only hope teams have of beating them. Things that might help a little: Maybe Wade drops off quickly with age. Maybe the ref's aren't anywhere near as kind to them as they have been in the past.

Bosh hasnt finished a season healthy for a very long time. Also its one thing for a guy who's making $100mm to take $10mm less. Its another thing to ask a guy who could make $5mm (MLE type) to take $1mm.

Look at how the Piston's beat the Lakers. Look at how the Celtics beat the Lakers. Basketball is a team sport. You need the stars because those guys elevate the play of those around them, but if you build a team with great size and skill at every position you will compete.

Mia isnt making it past round 2 this year. Its going to take a couple of years to get some quality role player guys with MLE type contracts.

Briggs you said yourself... no rebounding no defense no rings. Lets see who the Miami front line is first.

As well as hating the Heat, I hate their reporter, Dan LeBatard too, but I can't remember what he said in the past (I think it was back at the height of the rivalry) that annoyed me so. Was it something about LJ? Or did he make racisit remarks about Ewing? Or insult new york? I honestly can't remember, all I remember is his name and my hatred for him!

If they can get Haslem, Mike Miller (did they sign him or not?), Raja Bell, and Jason Williams, plus assorted crap, then thats really probably all they need for this year. Next year they'll have the draft, the MLE and the LLE.

However, like I said, it depends how the refs call the games- if their going to give star treatment, there's no point in the other team even showing up. Also the new CBA may scrap the MLE, or introduce a hard cap, in which case they would be screwed and unable to build a team around them for the rest of their contracts.

Joel Anthony, Chalmers, Richardson, Jermain O'Neal. Wade is better than Kobe right now. He couldn't get that team to the playoffs only one other guy could have and that's Lebron.

I think we discount how bad there teams were.

There are plenty of guys out there that will hang in miami for a year and play with those guys. Not to mention the guys that get cut and bought out mid season. Chris Quinn can hold his own and just get open jump shots.

An imjury is all that is stopping them. Wade nearly won two games against the celtics all by himself what he did in the playoffs was amazing.

Lebron didn't play well and didn't have one teammate against Boston and this was his line

26.8pts 9.3rbs 7.2ass 2.2stls and 1.3blks

Fish that pistons team was like that Golden State team vs. Dallas. Perfect matchup. And Payton and Malone were in serious decline. These three guys are in there prime. That pistons team had Okur who became an All-Star to go with the best defensive team in the league and four all-stars. Orlando is finished if you ask me. I think the Bulls are the best bet to take them out. They will handle the Lakers if the Thunder don't do it before them.

I like were the knicks are as a team right now if Gallo and AR develop Amare stays healthy get some experience and add melo in the offseason we are matchup nightmare

Payton had a great year for them... the point is Lakers had Shaq/Kobe in their title winning prime, along with Payton still playing at a high level and Malone. Pistons simply destroyed them.

Anyway the thing w/ Gallo and AR is they are both quick enough to guard and deal w/ smaller players and big enough to destroy smaller players. In a lot of ways AR is a bigger stronger Prince.

Imagine is the Russian kid is a solid defender/rebounder/shotblocker? He's sure as hell athletic. Even if Turiaf is healthy you could a center with Amare 6'10, Gallo 6'10, AR 6'11 and Felton. Just play a zone. You have 4 guys with 7'2+ wingspans who are highly skilled on offense. Thats a matchup nightmare!

defense wins championships (or so I've heard). None of them are great defenders; Lebron is a ok to good defender but lets not get it twisted just cause he can block a dunk from behind. Wade is mediocre and Bosh is only slightly better than Lee which, isn't saying much.

Now, they have added Mike (can't defend a lick) Miller to the mix as well as hoping Mike (can't hit the 15footer) Haslem back too. Sure they will score a lot ala Phoenix but they won't be stopping anyone either.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I have to choose the Celtics over the Heat?

It always looks good on paper but the games are won on the court.

Health is going to be a big issue for them as will be outside shooting unless they get the right players.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I think the Heat will win 3 out of the next 5 rings, at least.

But the point of this video was to kind of laugh at what a-holes they're being about it.

Only one ball on the court. Wade and James having to share the ball diminishes their respective impact on the game.

They have Miller, and are trying to lure Fisher there- two great complimentary players who are poor defenders. If they add a shot blocking big, who is there to bang, defend, rebound, and score off passes from James and Wade, they will have a pretty imposing team.

I don't think they are unbeatable, but you are almost going to have to tailor your team to beat them.

Wade is a warrior, but he lays his body out too often- he is the one most likely to be injured. Bosh is another guy prone to injury. Who knows how this may factor in.

No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee

I don't think they'll be unbeatable yet. They'll lure some older Veterans at the minimum looking to collect a ring. For instance ...just saw Stackhouse on the NBA Network last night campaigning to play for the Heat at the minimum. However they don't need offense.....they's need strong defenders at the 1 and at the 5. If I'm an opposing coach - I play real physical with them....punish them for coming inside with hard fouls time and time again, they will have to pay for winning with black and blues ......I play Pat the Rat's defensive thug scheme he used while in NY.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Here's an article on what that piece of **** wrote. If you can believe it, this was actually published in the NY Daily News as part of an article exchange with the Miami Herald, during the 90s Knicks-Heat rivalries.

Controversy number two resulted from a tongue-in-cheek column Le Batard wrote on the eve of the recent Miami Heat-New York Knicks NBA playoff series. Among other insensitive swipes in the piece -- which was entitled "New York Fans: Obnoxious! Overbearing! Unpleasant!" -- Le Batard described the typical Knicks fan this way: "He has almost as much grease in his hair as he does on his body, and he wears his baseball cap backward because, well, the hat didn't come with directions. He has pasty skin ... and he starts all sentences with the words, 'Yo, Vinny,' even when addressing his mother." Toward the end, the columnist wrote: "Then there's prehistoric Patrick Ewing, whose facial features were once used by cavemen to chase frightened woolly mammoths. The only reason Ewing isn't the ugliest person in all of sports is because a few years ago Washington imported Gheorghe Muresan from Triteni, Romania."
