He was liked by everyone, now he is hated in Cleveland, NY, Chicago and probably California.

Besides the fact he is one of three now, will he still be a big Endorsement factor?

In the short term, maybe a little bit. In the long term, nah. Unless he proves to be a loser and whines about needing to leave Miami by the end of year 2.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

agree. Though had he gone to NYC he would have made hundreds of millions more then he will make in Miami, and the truth is he knows this and doesnt care. Shows you really is all about winning

I frickin hope so. I will not be using products he markets cause he douch bagged the Cavs and strung the whole f---ing Eastern conference along wiht his collusive plan to be a champ. he will always be Wade's sidekick.

Winning is one thing, but beating a worthy opponent is another. I could go beat up kindergardners in a kickboxing ring, but what would that prove. It not only the win, its who you beat to get it.

I would hope that there is a collective effort by all NY'ers to boycott the merchandise of any of the Miami players.

Yeah, I agree. He is taking heat now, but in a year or so, everyone will forget about it and once they win a championship, he will be the golden boy again. I do think his brand will take a small longterm hit because he really is not the "King" anymore. Miami is Wade's team and Wade will probably still be the closer b/c he is better at it than James. So I think this move will prevent James from ever reaching Michael Jordan status, but he was likely never to reach that status anyway.

For some reason, I'm not worried about LeBron's earning capacity going forward.

He is about winning? You mean a stolen championship maybe. It's a fact he will never be a Jordan he will never be a Magic Johnson , He will never be a Kobe, When people put on Leron James Gear it will read quitter. Sooner or later Cleveland was going to win a championship especially with the new coach that they have. Lebron will never be King James again and fans all across the globe will see that. Kobe is now King Kobe.

I will boycott them only because of what they did to us. Lebron never intended to never play for us. He should have told us that so we could have moved on and made other deals. He used us , Chicago, The Nets and he boy Jay Z, Cleveland and a few other teams. If he wanted to go to Miami I have no problem. My problem is with the process. He used people who was only trying to make their team better.

James may have increased his chances of winning multiple rings, however his brand will most likely take a hit. He goes from being viewed as the man in Cleveland to part of an ensemble cast in Miami....during the peak of his career. He will never reach Jordan's marketing heights nor most likely even Kobe's. Further, he took a marketing risk by going to Miami to play with his friends. If he does not win it all in Miami ....IN YEAR 1.....he risks being ridiculed. The Heat are now like the Yankees, if they do not win it all every year, it will be a failure in the eyes of fans. Further, until they win it all ....a tag will be placed on LBJ similar to ARod before he finally won a ship with the Yanks...that he puts up #'s but can't win it all.

This. Look at how big this story is? The guy just moved to a real major market and is the top story in sports right now (until the world cup final). The hate is jading peoples perspective - the guy is going to be huge.

Agree with both. IF this team wins they will be marketed like no other and will make a ton. They will also be loved nationwide as well. Every fickle fan in america will be wearing a Miami(wade or Lebron jersey) and telling everyone that they've been a Miami fan for decades. ESPN will talk about nothing else and the major news networks and gossip pages will be all over it. They will be huge. They only way they won't be huge is if they lose. IF they can't win a title people will jump off the bandwagon pretty quickly

I just hope that people will like me

Lebron will get bigger.

In fact, the three of them will elevate their games and those around them.

I prefer they fail personally and die a slow painful existance like some flesh eating disease would do to them.

But the reality is he will apologize and continue to amaze by filling up arenas. You'll boo him to a packed house.

Even Cleveland will sell out when the heat come to town.

Maybe even stop a kid from crossing into traffic like A-Rod did in Boston!

Maybe even save a kitten in a tree, or save an old lady and her grandchildren from a burning building.

Superheros are good like that.

No disrespect but the largest segment of NYers who actually buy his product or most NBA product aren't even Knick fans at this point. The 12-19 yr old urban kid who actually make sure they go and buy his products doesn't care what team he plays for as long as he is in a winning situation. Most kids I talked to about the whole thing were happy about him teaming up with Wade and Bosh. Aren't Knick fans because "they suck"

To be honest it appear that most of the outrage is coming from a lot of non-NBA fans in the media who stuck their head up to see what was going on this summer. And now they can get back to baseball and get ready for football.
