Great as far as plan Bs go...We got great value out of a guy that most of us expected to walk away for free, signed a legitimate star big man, and now have a solid starting PG, with enough space to keep r options open. A for Donnie

I'm giving a middle of the road C.

Gotta see the new team before you really put a vote forward I would think.

In: Turiaf, Randolph, Azubukie, Amare, Felton
Out: Lee, Harrington, Duhon

Just hard to say right now. If we end up turning Curry/Chandler into Okafor or something like that? Maybe then I'd give it a higher grade. Don't see that happening though.

Going with a vote of a "B" grade.

I don't think we are losing much at all with David Lee b/c we see a superior upgrade at the same position at the 4 with Amare.
But on top of that we receive a world of potential in Randolph in what most Warrior fans are lamenting over as a bad trade for them??
Solid deal, not to mention it was triggered immediately after the Lebacle. Plan B was THERE and executed.

So far, so good. The Lee trade will turn out to be a steal. Felton is a nice signing. You almost always have to overpay some for a free agent.

I love the AR trade, thought the Amare signing was very smart and perhaps kept us more in contention for LeBron and he will be a horse here and hopefully a leader for Gallo and AR to follow in the front court.

The Felton signing - I wanted this guy and I think the contract was extremely smart. I think he can blossom here.

All that and we still have total cap flexibility - I believe about $6-8M in space for this off-season and more like $25M next offseason if Turiaf opts out?

I'd like to add a shooter at SG - would have loved to add Morrow. Maybe Reddick?

Still, I think this team can win 42-50 games, depending on how things break. If Gallo and AR and Felton take big steps forward, we can be a very good team.

If we get Melo or Tony Parker, Plan B gets an "A". Right now it's a high "B" for me.

I rank it high for the sole fact that we have enough space to go after melo and also felton's contract is reasonable with a chance to get out of it after the second year if paul or deron williams become available. At this point it would make no sense to deal for OK4 because we need to stay flexible.

its an A right now for me. Not because the moves or the team is so great, but because its a plan B.

We had a good shot at Lebron, as good a shot as I think we could have asked for.

What I love about the plan B:
we keep cap flexibility
we upgraded the talent every position
we filled our biggest holes: defense, playmaking, size up front
we have a roster where EVERY PLAYER fits into an uptempo style of play. Every guy is fast, athletic and versatile
we are YOUNG. This is a rebuilt team with all star quality young talent

I am looking forward to some of the line ups we are going to put out there.

I cant wait to see Douglas and Felton with thier speed in the same backcourt and AR/Gallo/Amare up front. 3 guys 6'10+ with great skills on both ends

I voted *A*

You have to be realistic given that

A. there were 7 teams with massive cap space and there was more demand than supply

B. We did get 1 very good player

C. We couldve got nothing for Lee instead we have three guys who fit for cheap--one who has the chance to also be a really good player + if Azubike is healthy he's also a guy who can score 20 points any given night.

D. We probably got the best choice at PG given what was available and kept the years down I wasnt down 5-40++ but 3 years is palatable

not only that its 3 year and starts at $7mm per. We didnt over pay at all, kept the contract short and if this guy blows up in the speed ball offense like Nash did he's young enough to be our guy for the next 8 years. Whats he? 26?

We are also DEEP with rotation guys who ALL FIT our style of play. Turiaf gives you good size, and Walker, Azubuke, Douglas are all good athletic skilled uptempo guys who will DEFEND

VERY excited about watching this team for the next few years now. We have something we can grow w/ the a young veteran core of Amare/Felton and our already solid but still developing Gallo/AR/Chandler/Douglas

Lot of upside

as far as a 'plan b' goes this is an A+

we signed a perennial all-star, got a 20yr old young stud who can do anything on the basketball court, 2 players who fit this system very well and a young PG who can dictate the tempo, knock down open shots and be a playmaker.

A+++

I give it a N/A since the game has to be played. But I give Donnie a lot of credit walking out of the FA with the best FA Amare and the best PG Felton available. Those other three so called FAs were never available to anyone. They knew their destination.

I gave it an A, I think we acted fast and got what we needed. Also didn't lose David Lee for nothing.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

At this point in his career Felton has better numbers than Nash did at 26 and Nash didn't put up better numbers until he was 30 and in phoenix. Felton has never played in a system like this or with a star like Amare. Who says he's not the next Nash?

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

I'm happy about it and the Lee for AR Turiaf and Azabukkake was unreal- if anyone had proposed that trade here it would have been shot down as unrealistic. I like Felton too and I like Amare. No complaining from the BUICK.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Agreed.

Donnie took a big hit- probably destroyed his wheelchair, but he got right up and ended up on his feet like a man, unlike Princess James, who ended up in the "wheelchair" that is Wade and Bosh.

The funny thing is Donnie's "virility" (remember the reports that the Jame's gang commented on his virility because he was in a wheelchair) comes out looking pretty good after the "Decision," while James comes out with a crippled reputation.

Those are some good points, I never thought to look at things from that perspective.
