Wonder if Lebron ever imagined how bad we'd be? A Cleveland reporter just mentioned on the radio that some "serious skeletons" would be coming out of the closet. He wasn't talking about just these negotiations, but also about the last 7 years of enabling Lebron and his friends and family. This could get really ugly.

The city of Cleveland must be trying to make itself radioactive to free agents. Nothing positive will come from this.

Yeah, I think they're going overboard now. I think the one letter was enough... and then if things "accidentally" leak to the media, what can you do? But going head-on is a losing battle that will cost them for years.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

well, its not like they were ever an enticing place for free agents anyway. they can get back with the draft and role players like they did in the 90's and have a good coach in scott.

Yup. Revenge can be sweet, but you have to think that NBA players will not see this as a good reason for going there.

From Wojnarowski's column which has its own thread:
So now people are cheering Dan Gilbert’s manifesto tearing apart James, but no one contributed more to what the world witnessed on Thursday night than the owner’s enabling of James and his inner circle for seven years. Gilbert is the biggest con going, a man who makes his fortune peddling mortgages, and he’ll make his next on casinos in downtown Cleveland. He sells illusions for a living, and now he’s selling the biggest of all: that he’s a victim here, that James betrayed everyone. That’s a lie, and no one ought to dare buy it.

Yeah, Lebron's a jerk for how he handled it. But Gilbert is showing himself to be devoid of class. He's going to destroy that franchise, if Lebron hasn't already.

And he puts his letter in Comic Sans? Lame move all around by Gilbert.

I agree. On the other side of this, I think a lot of players may be sick of James and might revel a little in this. We saw a little of this with Brandon Jennings tweet that Lebron was a stat stuffer and the when the Gloria/Delonte rumors came out (which I'm not entirely sure are true, but wouldn't mind if they were). A few players seemed to be having fun at the expense of James.

I wouldn't want to play for a guy like this Gilbert. He doesn't seem that professional.

There is nothing attractive about the city of Cleveland.

It was only popular to free agents because of LBJ.

Now that he's gone? That's gone.

Cavs are finished for the time being unless they want to DRASTICALLY overpay ANYONE who will play for them.

One thing that Cavs do well is tank a season or two and get back to where they need to be. Don't think that strategy won't be implemented.

We sure got screwed by LeBron. Martin took down my Topic but I still beleive that there was colusion in this process and LeBron new a month ago that he was going to play in Miami with Wade and Bosh. He Screwed his man Jay Z. He should have told us so we could have made other moves. Teams got hurt especially the Nets thinking they had a chance so they held up on moves. We got duped and we never had a chance with Lebron. I dislike him for how he duped my Knicks. He never intended on coming here and he should have told us so we could have moved on.

Stop knocking Clevland. We ain't doing so hot ourselves. Who did we get in the past 10 years?
This will make Cleveland fight that much harder and they have a good coach who will get the best out of them.

Papabear, LBJ, Wade and Bosh are employees. There is no collusion here. Just friends deciding to work at the same location. We were trying to get Lebron to the same thing remember that Feb. trade. Get Bosh to come with him to NY. Collusion would be if all 30 teams decided and agreed among each other not to give any player a max contract or above a certain amount or not to sign a particular player.

LeBron new that he had no intentions of signing with us. He should have just told us so we could move on. The reason why he canceled his trip to New York and other places because he had no intentions of coming here. Walsh could have made other moves if he only knew that we had no chance of getting Lebron. Thats all I'm saying. And by the way misleading, and lying to people is wrong and sometimes can be a crime.

I think Cleveland needs to settle down, no need to ruin the guy - let him ruin himself on his own, last nights hour long laugh-a-thon was a good start.

i would have had more respect for him if he'd had the sense to use Times New Roman, or perhaps even Garamond Pro.
