This is the best player the Knicks have acquired since the Grunfeld/Checketts era ended in terms of resume and record. A guy who's won playoff series, a several time all star- no one we've acquired has had his resume coming in here.

And best of all he wanted to be here. He's ready to revive the franchise. He is an athlete with stones. He is Amar'e.

And btw his last year under D'Antoni he averaged more points and rebounds in fewer minutes than he got in either of the last 2 years.

Welcome the new face of the franchise- someone who wants to fill that role.

love it des.

say whatever you want about amar'e, i've never been his biggest fan, but when you get a guy who wants to come here, wants to take on the challenge of putting this team back on the map, wants to play under the bright lights in the pressure-cooker then i think you have to be happy to have this guy on your team. thankyou amar'e for keeping my faith in new york knicks basketball.

I'm glad he's here - the dude can play and I think he will fit in perfectly in NY.

I am psyched about Amare and I can't believe what the Knicks got in a sign and trade for Lee.

I'm not going lie. I nearly choked from laughing when I read that. Some may not understand but I do.

If Amare is your best player you are in trouble and I will leave it at that. Did I mention he will be making 20 million a yr his last 2 seasons?

If Walsh was smart he'd see if Morey was willing to trade back our picks for Amare.

* Did you know that, despite Lee’s very nice 11.7-rebound average last season, the Knicks actually were a better percentage rebounding team when Lee was off the floor than when he was playing?

Yep. The NYKs grabbed 49% of the total rebounds when Lee was out. They grabbed 47.8% when he was in the game.

The Knicks evolving playing personality is a beautiful thing

Turiaf - passionate and animated, can go uptempo
Stoudemire - see above, with All Star Street Cred, will dunk on you
Gallo - does not back down and not afraid to show emotion
Chandler - quiet, and will dunk on you in a heartbeat
Randolph - will block a shot a the top of the backboard, and dunk on you off the dribble

Douglas - tough as nails and intense on defense
Rautins - will battle and scrap
Fields - tbd, like his strength and Stanford pedigree
Walker - making the most of summer, understands the angles, tough

Jordan - raw but seven feet tall
Barron - see above, hope he is signed

I can see Barron going back to Miami if we don't offer him a legit deal.

I don't know why ESPN used this song for LeBron. This is Amare's theme song.

Right which is why the stat is meaningless. Like the Knicks record without Ewing.

Amare has overcome more than most atheletes face and has been able to maintain his level of play. He also has grown up. He is a mature star with character. I think his knee surgery may limit the length of his career but I hate when teams pass on guys that might have 5-6 good years(i.e. DeJuan Blair). That is a long career in the NBA.
