Now that LeBron won't be a Knick, it's clear that Donnie Walsh's plan was horribly thought out and executed. It stands to equal the disaster that was the Isiah years. It was a huge gamble and it blew up in their faces. Discuss.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I disagree. Just because YOU didn't get who you wanted doesn't mean the plan is a failure. There are still options, very good options. Deal with it! Right now you have the prospect of a new, competitive, team. The alternative was Zbo, Crawford, Jeffries and Curry. You got to play with the big boys. You're a little banged up, but you learned and you still have options. Let us move forward, not stay mired in the past.

Walsh's plan was very flawed, he let everyone know what it was and he was taken advantage of and gave up too much in his attempt to execute it. That being said if he gets Randolph, Turiaf and signs Shawn Livingston while maintaining cap space I will be pleased.

YOUR AND IDIOT!!! This is outside of DW's control. He can't be faulted for going for it. The plan is still in effect. Look 3 of the top targets went to one team, that killed the plans of 5 other teams looking to get Lebron, not just the Knicks.

Miami did the same thing.

Was their plan awesome?

I shouldn't even get involved with the parade of "I'm a Knick fan but this is HILARIOUS that we lost out on LBJ. FIRE WALSH! Told you so!" Shit.

I have to wait and see what happens yet. I still think that we can do some things that have been mentioned to climb out of this. If these things go sour--than--you have to judge the execution part of this two year process--but that cant be done until we know what the full deal is.

Compared to how the Bulls, Cavs and Nets are feeling, we did pretty well this offseason. We didnt put our eggs in one basket and im very very confident that next season will be a good one for us.

Putting all your eggs in one basket is NEVER a good plan. Can we get rid of D'phony now?

Miami did the same thing but had an ace in their sleeve with Wade and the Knicks must've known that.
