Amare is saying how Parker, and Melo wants to come. Amare is begging for a contract offer because he knows if LBJ comes and wants Bosh he will be left in the cold and wont find 100 million anywhere else. I truly believe the Knicks wont offer Amare a contract until they find out what Bosh and LBJ do,

King, I wouldn't be surprised for a second if you're right, but I do hope the Knicks can close things out with Amare tomorrow. I like the fact they have been aggressive in bringing the first name in. Plus, I see trouble more likely coming from a sit and wait approach as opposed to LeBron saying, "Well...Amare's nice, but I really would have preferred Chris," especially with all the Wade/Bosh rumors floating around.

I think Walsh is playing it right lets say they get Amare and Monta Ellis that is equal to maybe 40 wins and a 8 seed. Walsh could have kept zach and jamal made some trades and probaby made the playoffs instead he gutted the team and future. You play the cards until the end and try and hit the home run. You're the only team who wants Amare make him wait he has no leverage.

I'd rather have Amare than that pansy Bosh. Amare has been known to carry his team. What has Bosh ever done? Sign Amare and lock him up. LeBron knows what he wants its Amare, he wanted him on the Cavs during the trade deadline.

Ellis not coming to knicks in a million years. Book that.

agree, and that is why i hope they dont sign him in an effort to lure lbj. they may have plans though to deal with that scenario, who knows right now?

Duh.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Not sure I would concede that. Amare, Douglas, Chandler, Gallo, Jordan etc., can compete for the eight spot. Maybe its not in the same class as CHI, ORL, BOS, CLE, MIA, ATL depending on how the FA chips fall, but I'll take my chances with the rest.

there's zero chance of that happening... even if we miss out on Lebron, Bosh & Wade, you can bet we'll be signing up some other FA's to add to this roster.

That's what really irks me about this whole thing. Lebron isn't the end all. He's one man. There are 30 teams. Lebron hasn't won **** in 7 years. He's in the same boat as Amare. Best believe if Amare comes and Lebron doesn't.....life goes on. A team will assemble and regardless of what.....I don't know about anybody else but I'm a knick fan for life buleedat. Fuck Lebron son I'm from Brooklyn new York city. No way am I gonna ride anyone's nutsac. Funk day!

i'm from Staten Island & i got no problem hanging on Lebron's nutsack if he wants to come here... i'm just sayin' if we miss out on those top guys we're still gonna use up the cap space to sign guys... we're not coming out of this summer w/just 1 acquisition.

If LeBron decides he doesn't want to come, I actually might be OK with just Amar'e this summer bro --- I don't want to see them come all this way and then ruin any chance of bringing home Carmelo Anthony next year. If Melo was a FA this summer, he'd be right there in the top 3 -- Lebron 1, Wade 2a, Melo 2b...Melo's my plan B if Lebron doesn't want to come. Simple as that...Amar'e/Melo/Tony Parker (and remember, for what it's worth, Amar'e has already gone on the record saying he's had positive dialogue with Melo & TP about joining him in NY eventually)..There's no way I'd let a 5 year deal for Mike Miller compromise that plan..I'd be completely comfortable inking up Amar'e, then going after Melo and Parker hard next summer, possibly even making a trade for either anytime before that. If you want Mike Miller or any of these 3rd/4th options, just agree to overpay any of them for the 1 year. I know Mike Miller will be looking for a long-term deal (he's not getting any younger) and he's actually a good player but we just can't afford that...We've come a long way -- I wanna see us keep the cap room open for the best available plan B out there before we scrap the patience and go back to signing any-old guy Isiah Thomas-style..

My hope is we will use the cap space on mostly 1 year contracts, in that scenario, leaving plenty of room for the summer of Carmelo.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

no worry there because that would leave them with 6 players.

An Amare/Barron frontcourt combo is 10x better than Lee/Harrington
A Mike Miller/Douglas backcourt is 10x better than anything that played more than a week last year

We are already better. At the end of the day we give up Jordan Hill and top 5 protected pick 2 years from now. I will bet you $100 the Knicks are better than the Rockets next year.

How many games will the knicks win if they get amare and fillers? Take injuries into account because there is a 38% percent chance amare misses most of the year.

that would be my hope too bro... i don't wanna see us signing 3rd tier guys to longterm contracts just for the sake of not striking out this summer in free agency... if we miss out on the big guys, even tho it'll be a failure, it's better to still sign up 1 year rental players than to hinder ourselves once again with immoveable contracts of players that won't get us to the next level... that is the absolute worst case scenario imaginable.
