I don't even think strikes compare to this diva act. This is boring obnoxious and has somewhat tainted the season this year. I would hope that these diva's and teams can finish this out in a prompt manner and let the fans move on.

It has been crazy....but I don't know who to blame...is it so annoying because we all check every post, rumor, twitter, and so on? Is it so annoying because of the media, the players, or the fans? A combo I suppose.
I get all mad at Lebron and think he is a "diva"...then I realize he hasn't actually said anything...I am not sure what else he should have done.
Bosh is the one who is annoying me....from hosting Mike and Mike---did you see him try to get a spot hosting SNL when Seth Myers was on...pathetic.
Oh well, it will be over soon enough, I would love to just go drink, eat, and watch fireworks for the next 48 hours and come back Monday to see what happened...but, sadly I know I will be checking in after this next cup of coffee.

Happy holiday weekend everyone!

the egos at play here are massive massive massive. i actually respect lebron a little more for keeping it off camera. wade and bosh should be embarassed for themselves. maybe they will be when they see their own documentary.

I can't believe I agree with BRIGGS.

I thought this would be fun but it's really been a huge turnoff. These players with their diva act and Twitter and teams leaking false info about each other trashing their FA presentations and visits is just too much. It's gone from professional basketball to wrestling.

Briggs - did you ever consider the print and broadcast media machine that manufactured the hyperbole as a lead story in the first place?

You ever consider the role of talk radio, corporate sponsors, investors, social media in adding writers like you who obsess and kvetch about every rumored detail, who give the story non stop coverage?

I have an idea, let's start another thread about it!

It has been annoying but look at how many people are paying attention. These boards are on fire, I am sure the ratings on ESPN are high etc. NBA free agency with legit stars is a big deal.

The egos are a bit much but it will all be over in a few days.

It was like this when Brian Grant came here to visit and he was a scrub compared to Wade and Lebron.

This is ultimately about us fans. The media is a business and so is basketball. These people do this beacuse they can get away with it. Their is no retribution, in most cases there is an increase in the level of adoration for gimmicks and cheap stunts like throwing powder at the start of games.

Fan interest is what uels the media to do what it does. Y'all may hate Tommy Dee but he is what he is because of us. High level of testosteron and low levels of mature reflection has led to this runaway train-wreck that is professional sports these days. This is being written more a s self criticism than anythng else so please don't take this any other way.

That's why I say kudos to Donnie Walsh. Instead of waiting on LeBron to start a domino effect, we're close to signing Amare and making things happen on our own.

The NBA has been held hostage by these divas. I'll give LeBron some credit though, he isn't being as ridiculous as Wade and Bosh are.

No argument here. I'd go as far as to say a lot of the 2010 Free Agency class has been lacking class.

This is a clear reflection of today’s American society.
No substance, just hype.
No clear direction and hard work, just talk, talk, talk. Mountains of bullsht.

To be honest the only players who I'm finding to be obnoxious are Bosh and Wade- they've been pretty disgraceful. I get that they are excited and it must be flattering to have all this attention, and I guess it's something new for Bosh as he's used to being stuck up in Toronto out of the limelight, but I wish they'd realise that for a lot of fans and teams, this isn't a laughing matter- if Bosh leaves Toronto a lot of fans there are going to be devastated, likewise for the teams they're flirting with- those teams are going to be screwed (including us!) if all of there manouverings to clear cap space result in them getting nothing in return.

And to be fair, leading up to this week everyone was saying that Lebron was going to be doing an elaborate ego tour with special shoes being released, but in actual fact the man has been very humble and professional throughout, keeping largely out of sight and not offering any inflamatory words to the press- basically the complete opposite of Bosh and Wade.

It depends on what kind of documentary it is. If it shows the absurdity of the process it could be very interesting.

If the spin is that way, then I completely agree with you. But do you think Wade has the balls to do anything anti-NBA? He's been a good soldier in MIA so far, so it seems kinda atypical of Wade imo. I dont think Stern would approve either

media is feeding the frenzy.

oh well...basketball has dropped off alot to me anyways, and this whole offseason has turned me off almost completely. i usually get league pass for TV but next season, i'm only going to get the cheapest online league pass option so i can just watch the raptors. lebron + wade + bosh can all be on one team and i wouldn't be the least bit curious to watch them.
