The Nets were the first team to meet with LeBron James on Thursday and they came away feeling very confident about their chances of signing the two-time MVP.

A source close to the Nets said their meeting with LeBron was "tremendous."

When asked by ESPN.com's Chad Ford what tremendous meant, the source said: "Front runner tremendous."

New Jersey's presentation was led by owner Mikhail Prokhorov and part owner Jay-Z.

Rumor has it that it went so well that LeBron is moving to Russia.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

You have Tommy Dee posted how the Knicks had a longer meeting than the Knicks as a positive but fail to realize that Lebron has been talking to the Nets for months and years with his boy Jay Z and his wife over dinner and at their home. I was always of the belief if your interviews begin to go over a certain time then you are wasting it and only hurting your chances. Who knows. Can't wait to see how this plays out.

Yeah like they'd actually know that this early in the process. This is just Nets propaganda. Until Lebron Comes out and says something specific it's just more media musing. It means about as much as the positively optimistic stuff DW said coming out of their meeting. You can feel good but it doesn't really mean anything.

One thing I do know is that there are more deals that have to be worked out and who knows how that will effect the process. NY likely knows what it's gonna take to get it done, so those other moves will likely be made before Lebron decides.

You know if there was an article about how good the meeting with the Knicks and LeBron James went and how Donnie Walsh expects a second meeting, Briggs wouldn't post it. Pathetic.

Lasting close to 3 hours can only be looked at as a good thing I guess but I'm a little worried by Allan Houston's comment about LeBron not offering much feedback during the meeting...That's what stood out to me the most based on everything I've read so far..I mean really? The man had no questions?? Either we were super informative laying out everything there possibly is to lay out covering every topic or we wasted this man's time and bored him to the point where he didn't even want to chew up anymore time asking meaningless questions..

I can picture it now.

JayZ: SO don't BS me, how'd the meeting go.
Bron: Well so far, you guys are the frontrunners, but i still have to meet with ...
JayZ: Y'heard. We frontrunners!

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

why would ANY legit source leak that they are frontrunners? They wouldnt. If you think you have him nailed down you keep every lid on tight until he comes to sign.

Knicks still trying to decide if their meeting with Lebron was "Stupendous" or "Tremendous".

I didn't see Houston's comments but I remember the Knicks presentation to Hill being considered great when they dominated it too and according to Hill slip up with the video portion of it. Sometimes it better to sit back and get a feel. Coming on too strong is sometimes a big issue. I was hoping they would allow Lebron to have more feedback about the team and it's direction than in past meetings. Let's be honest here, D'Antoni has the most experience at landing quality FAs than either Dolan or Walsh based on history.
