From Berman

The Knicks have their plate full tonight for their free-agent trip to Los Angeles, The Post has learned.

At 9 p.m. Pacific time, they were planning to meet with Washington's 6-8 small forward Mike Miller before sitting down with Atlanta's Joe Johnson, according to a source.

If the Knicks have no luck with the elite five free agents, including LeBron James, Miller is a very serious option because his perimeter shooting is perfect for Mike D'Antoni's offense.

Wizards GM Ernie Grunfeld wants to keep Miller but the Knicks could be in the position to overpay if desperate. Miller averaged 10.9 points but shot 50 percent from the field and 48 percent on 3-pointers.

D'Antoni's speedball offense allows shooters like Miller a lot more opportunities.

Johnson met with the Knicks only after he first sat down with his team, the Hawks, who reportedly were set to offer him the maximum contract for six years. If the Hawks come through, the Knicks would be in trouble as Atlanta can outbid them by $30 million.

If the Knicks can't get the marquee FA's maybe their plan to re-sign Lee and then spread some cash out amongst guys like Miller, Ridnour and some others to try and be more competetive and save space for a max or two next year.

I like Miller a lot but after all of the preperation for this summer to meet with him at 12:00 on the night free agency starts is disappointing. Did they do the same thing when the plan was announced and they offered Duhon the mid level for two years?

Mike Miller, Luke Ridnour and Kyle Korver held their own free agent summit and have all agreed to team up with the Knicks.

This had BETTER not be true. We spent years being awful, only to finally clear out capspace and we're meeting with the likes of Mike F'n Miller. Someone smash me in the face if this happens!

Now here too...

The Knicks will meet with Mike Miller as free agency begins at 9:01 PM EST local time in Los Angeles.

Joe Johnson will meet with the Knicks shortly thereafter.

Both Miller and Johnson are represented by Arn Tellem.

Miller will meet with the Heat after New York, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

I am hoping that maybe the Knicks as a franchise will learn to keep things closer to the vest and not share all of their plans in the future. Once the Knicks announced their plans it allowed players (i.e. Duhon) and teams to plan around the Knicks goals and take advantage of them. I also hope if this turns out to be an epic failure that the franchise moves on from D'Antoni and Walsh quickly.

Not feeling Mike Miller.

Unless we trade Danilo Gallinari.

What is the point of signing Mike Miller when you already have Danilo Gallinari? Makes no sense to me. Unless we trade Gallo with Eddy Curry. Miller could be our snipper. But having both and wasting cap duplicating a position is dumb.
