Not a bad idea since he is UFA. This way we shouldn't have to over pay.

Foye just got Villanueva'd.

Funny.

What the hell is Grunfeld doing down there? #5 for Miller and Foye last year, who are both gone. And then this year he absorbs Hinrich's $17M (minus the $6M CHI game him) for #17.

I guess it's all hindsight, but if he were in NY, he would be gone.

they tried to "win now" one last time with the Arenas, Jamison, Butler trio... and it blew up in their faces after the gun thing.

I think the Hinrich trade makes a decent amount of sense - he supported DRose nicely for two years in Chicago, now he's supporting JWall.

the key now is whether they can move Arenas. and i hope to god it's not to us.

they did try to win now, and then they tried to blow it up. Did they end up with anything after trading Jamison, Butler (and they should have unloaded Miller too to a playoff team)? Josh Howard (how they prob dont retain) and Al Thornton? Yikes.

yeah, if he ever tried to pull that trading away draft picks for 1 year rental players act here, he'd be gone. *cough*

Hey, we could end up being so bad next season, we may keep our pick.

Randy Foye kinda reminds me of Chauncey Billups. I'm not saying he will develop like Chauncey did, but they have the same physical style. I would scoop him up if we didn't have TD.

the league is all about financial deals now. if a team takes salary from you, they don't want to give any assets back - if anything they WANT more assets. like how Washington demanded pick 17 to take Hinrich's deal.

Grunfeld also just landed 1 of the top young talents to come along in several years by the name of John Wall, a guy he can build his team around... he's got a bird in the hand... we got nothing but hopes & prayers at this point... hopefully our prayers are answered.

would you rather have John Wall, Arenas, Howard, Blatche, McGee, Booker & ownership of all your draft picks going forward or a bare roster with Gallo, Wilson, TD & no good picks for the next 2 years & an ever increasingly slim hope of landing Lebron James or Chris Bosh?

If you think they're keeping howard, i have news for you. and if you think they aren't trying desperately to trade Arenas, i have more news. somehow you left out the fact that they just burned $12M in cap room on Yi Jilan and Kirk Hinrich. Wall should be good, but I think Derrick Rose is better after having watched both of them a LOT during their college careers. And I don't love McGee and Blatche as much as Briggs.

If by increasingly slim hope of landing lebron james you mean $35M in cap room?

I'll take the cap room.

i don't give a crap if u take out Howard & Arenas or not, they still have a franchise guy to build around... we don't... (btw, John Wall will be better than Derrick Rose IMHO)... we're holding our breathe to land one this summer & right now our chances aren't looking too good... if we get Lebron & Bosh, i'm gonna be the first to admit being wrong for doubting Donnie Walsh, but if we don't i got a feeling y'all are just gonna say it was worth the risk rather than manning up & admitting you were wrong.

So there is a reason to keep D'Antoni if the Knicks strike out in free agency.

i think it was worth the risk. right now i'm saying that without knowing what happens.

i don't think donnie has handled this anti-NY spin that's been coming out lately very well. seems like the spin is coming from maverick carter and it's no good for our chances if maverick doesn't want the knicks.

i'll wait to see what they do, but i do not believe jordan hill was changing our fortunes at all. it's worth the risk to take a big swing and try to build something.

would i have rather drafted stephen curry and anthony randolph and had young guys to root for and watch their whole career? yes.
