It takes a dream team to land The King.
The Knicks have put together a committee filled with some of New York's biggest names to help bring free agents to the struggling basketball team.
Free agents, such as LeBron James, for instance.
"New York would be a great thing for LeBron," said Donald Trump, who has joined the committee along with a cavalcade of other Gotham notables, such as Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Boomer Esiason and Spike Lee.

Lebron can live where he wants and doesn't need to join the Knicks to do so. Hell, Steve Nash lived in the city for a long time. They better get more creative than taking shots at Lebron's home town.

Is there a UK "celebrity" on the committee?

Anybody on UK feel that they are "worth...y" enough to be on it?

assume the position!

Honestly- if we can make a pitch based on we can help Lebron make more money being in the media/finance capital of the world, then we wouldn't be trying this other crap.

It's more than just where he lives, besides Nash can kind of hide here Lebron could never do that. It's about being associated with the city and it's success. I think it just underscores the fact that this is the place for a bigger than life BB Star that intends to crossover into other avenues of life. Cleveland has nothing and the stars can bring that point home crystal clear. Sure it's overkill but that's the point. With every star Cleve shrinks just a bit more.

Plus you know how big NY is! Even living in NY your whole life you never get to see or do everything the city has to offer and everyday something new gets added. The city never gets stale or boring. This is only one aspect of why he should come here. The BB reasons are just as compelling IMO.

Why does nyc need celebrities to sell Lebron on coming? Either you come or you don't. This is New York!!!

Yeah we want Lebron but we also want to win a championship. Lebron hasn't won one yet. We in the same boat. I feel like this. We pitch the plan to bron and we give him 2 weeks to make a decision. That decision includes signing his sidekick. If it don't happen the Knicks gotta move on.

Need? Who said anything about need. If people want to get expressive, more power to them. I would more concerned if people didn't care. Why this is almost offensive to some I don't really understand.

Anyway, we all know LeBron is really making his decision based off of Facebook wall posts. Get to it.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Because we are a tad desperate after ten years of total suckage, some of which were embarrassingly bad including the hiring and promotion of the biggest tard in NBA history (IT). Also, we traded a lot to dump Fishlips' contract because we are all in for Lebron and Bosh this summer. We set the table for them. If they want to come enjoy the banquet and leave no tip, so be it. But a little birdie told me they are big tippers, and all they will need is a couple of lap dances to put it over the top. Not sure what the appeal is of those lap dances coming from Chris Rock, Spike Lee, or any of the others celebs, but if they're game, why wouldn't we be, too?

23 days fellas. The tone around here is gonna perk up nicely in a few weeks.

these cats should give a decent sports view: Rangers Stanley Cup hero Mark Messier, former Giants Super Bowl winner Phil Simms and Knicks legends Willis Reed, Walt Frazier and Earl "The Pearl" Monroe.

My thing is this....winning a nba championship in nyc after all we've been through would be like the ultimate thing ever in nyc sports history. What else is there to sell? Lap dances, a free dinner? A tour? We can do that here at ultimateknicks.com!!!! lap dances are $20 for christsakes.

There is nothing these celebs can sell Lebron on that he hasn't already done. What he hasn't done is win a championship and that's what the Knicks should be most concerned with selling Lebron.

"You don't have to sell winning in New York," Jeter said.

When it was pointed out to Jeter that since he has won in New York, James could find out about how special it is, Jeter still didn't budge.

Jeter hypothetically compared it to if he were going to be recruited by one of the Los Angeles teams and Magic Johnson called him.

"If I were going to another baseball team, how would a basketball player help?" Jeter said. "I don't play basketball. I have nothing to do with that."

Unaware of Walsh's comments at the time he spoke about James, Jeter said he doubted the Knicks would ask him.

"I don't see how it would work," he said. "It is completely different."

Jeter, who was a standout basketball player in high school, knows James a little.

"He's a nice guy," Jeter said. "He's a big Yankee fan so I've gotten to meet him. I probably think of him as a player like everyone thinks of him as a player -- he can do anything."

agree... hope messier can share the 1940 type of crap ranger fans dealt with. reed/frazier with the 1st knick title. simms with giants 1st title in ages... if that doest give lbj some perspective of what this city is like after a long drought....

Damn, Jeter can be a hoe sometimes. What he said didnt make any sense. Bascially what he is saying is he's not going to help the Knicks steal his, nor the Yankees, limelight.
