WFAN sports host Craig Carton remarked on Zeke Thomas this morning.

Something else to make Knicks fans sick in today's New York newspaper which I am sure many has seen already

Zeke contracted players amassing up to $120 million dollars which these players and stated
playing about 82 games total for players mentioned. These were S.Marbury, Dan Dickau, big
Mo Taylor and the heralded Jerome James.

Is there anybody reporters got a bigger hard-on for and grudge against, that Isiah? They're forever trying to discredit the man and throw dirt on him. They talk about Walsh cleaning Zeke's mess, but Isiah was trying to clean up Layden's too.

That said, how is it that there was such a large disconnect between the type of talent Zeke was able to draft, and the type of talent he traded for or signed? And how did he play for the "Bad Boys" yet he was bringing in softies like Maurice Taylor and Eddy Curry?

as bad as layden was, IT made it worse. its not like he didnt earn a lot of the scorn being heaped... once the daily reminders of his failed attempts are gone, the ability to talk about him will decrease.

why not lay some healthy criticism on Dolan? if Walsh's gambit fails, the one constant throughout Layden, Thomas, and Walsh is Dolan.

and Herb Williams!

Herb is in it for the long haul. That guy has seen it all and has managed to come out on top somehow. Like the ****roach he will roam the halls of MSG forever. Spreading the timely adage of "come on guys" to anyone who cares to listen.

Damn you start a ...about nonsense regarding Zeke and whatever comes to your mind, huh?

Reporter reported facts correct, Zeke is a germ whom had good Knicks intentions at outset and at end ruined the Knicks as bad
as Layden could have done and perhaps worst.

Besides everything brought about regarding Zeke's buddy Dolan is correct, Dolan loves Zeke Thomas so much he still supports paying
him to this day and wanted to keep Zeke after he was guilty in sex-case A.Browne case. But Dolan was pressured and Zeke was out.
Same Dolan whom ran Magic Johnston hall-of-famer out of Garden seat cause Magic's new book tattle-tale on Zeke the real Isiah hurt
Dolan's feelings about his sonny-boy Zeke Isiah Thomas.

Get it straight Zeke Thomas has done a bad job in NY Knicks org. and ain't nothing no one can do to discredit him more than
Zeke has done gracefully already. Too bad bra-dah

First off Broussard is a notorious Zeke supporter. This guy loved all of his trades when they were made.

Second, Isiah is the reason we are in this mess. It's easy for this fool to blame Checketts and Layden but what he doesn't mention is the expiring contracts, draft picks and young players Isiah Thomas had at his disposal to acquire the likes of Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford and Eddy Curry in his first 2 years with the team. Not to mention trading shorter deals for longer ones constantly and barely upgrading the talent level on the team. The signings? Those doesn't even need to be mentioned.

Isiah Thomas is one of the worst GM's in sports history.

Precisely
I could not have said it any better than points you made !
Excellent!

All in all Zeke's issue was he fell in love with players and trades as evident by Marbury fiasco and Eddy Curry trade disaster
You DONT give up the barn in trades of such which Zeke Thomas always gave up Barn for players he wanted and then never stuck
with his lousy moves guys were either traded again quickly often for nothing.

He set our knicks back 5-6 yrs and Walsh is digging out of the mess. Thomas made moves for sake of making moves and gut feeling.
Horrible Coach, worse president and Zeke's claim to fame was talent search or scouting that is all.

Whomever wants to say reporters discrediting knicks is what makes me laugh here. What Zeke did in NY makes us forget his lame
CBA days

isiah was the george w bush of gm's - everything he touched turned to s**t. knicks fans were counting down the days til he got the F out of here, just like the bush countdowns. man was a clusterf**k of a leader.

it's time and has been time to move forward. but if zeke's tenure here gets raised then there's no need to portray it any other way but truthfully - a total disaster.

Excellent post. I couldn't agree more. The fact that Isiah still has supporters to defend him is highly disappointing. I can't think of anyone else who caused so much damage in so little time. A little over 4 years, but his decisions screwed the Knicks for 6 or 7. That takes skill.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

LOL @ ya'll positioning Broussard as an Isiah supporter when all he was doing was spitting truth in that video.

No doubt, we wont let any facts get in the way of your guys' weekly Isiah pitchfork party. In the meantime arent we supposed to be concerned about the current regime?

I think Isiah got more than fair treatment for his tenure.

$ for $, win for win, and character flaws abound, this man in his time had the lowest winning % of any franchise in any sport thru the history of professional sports with salary structure in balance that rivals no body at any time in history. THe only saving grace was perhaps the % of that salary vs. the high value of the franchise. NO other team could sustain such an epic failure.

Add the indefensable sextual harassment suite slapped on his ass and your looking at a great script for an HBO type movie.

This man has trotted thru his post HOF career with reckless abandenment and little conscience.

No GM is perfectly bad, including Isiah but even when he had it right (reezy) he blew it. Hired the right coach with the wrong roster, or was that the wrong coach with the wrong roster?

Perhaps his biggest mistake was not the financil aspects of obtaining Marbury, or that he over paid, bu the fact he banked on him being the face of the franchise and its no. 1 player. His evaluation not of talent but the train wreck we call marbury, Eddy and Jerome James is just unbelievable.

Isiah is indefensible any level or perspective. Laydens failures rest on its won laurels but he is no benchmark to measure Isiah from any altitude. At the very worst he took his shot with Dice who at least had proven himself to be mentally stable and physically commited. HE was a proven commodity. Eddy was a heart patient and Marbury was posterchild for the self absorbed and egocentric. It does not take a smart person before absorbing his contract to evaluate his personality disorders and project a career path. Chime in anytime Marv on that aspect.

If his moves were so obnoxiously bad, from the jump, why were his trades for Marbury and Curry largely celebrated initially? Lets not play revisionist history.

No, I'm just being real.

On paper his deals looked good,(other than jerome james) so its not as if they were complete braindead moves like trading for Howard Eisley and Shandon Anderson. All I'm saying is there there was logic behind his moves. But I know ya'll hate the man so I might as converse with a brick wall.

The Knicks were supposed to revolve around Houston, who was hands down our best player, but then his knee disintegrated. In 03-04, Marbury got us to the playoffs and there was a lot of buzz around the Knicks, but then it all went to shyt. Marbury was a top-3 PG in his prime, coming off a great season.

Isiah's problem is that he didnt see the big picture and allow for contingency plans, incase things didnt work out. In addition, he had no concept of financial responsibility and long term planning. He put his eggs in every trade basket, giving out key assets like they were candy. Sounds like our current situation which should be more of a focus rather than harping on moves made 5-7 years ago, every week.

Perspective.

perspective is also understanding that Isiah didn't just trade for Marbury, but also overpaid for him. And Curry. And Big Game. And Jefferies. And was involved in sexual harassment. And he enabled Marbury, etc.

Didnt I pretty much say that in my post? That he didnt allow for long term planning, or contingency plans, and that he was a bad GM?

He failed. I just dont have blind hate for him like ya'll do.
