I have been anxious but reserved about this squad. I think there is great potential (especially in the East), but the gel'ing has just not happened. It will, but I hate the wait.

I have mixed feelings too... If we win, cool. But if we lose, then maybe Chaney will finally be gone and we can get this show on the road.

IMO Dallas has ALOT of guns, and to say that we will have a hard time is an understatement.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I third the mixed feelings...however I did see something int he last game. These guys looked like they were starting to enjoy playing together...even KVH seems to be liking the new look of the team - the passing has gotten much better and the scoring will come too. Lets see how they look tonight...I still am not a Chaney fan and probably never will be.

No! Win or Lose Chaney gets fired when Zeke is ready to fire him. He is obviously not rushing it. It should've been apparent from the loss to the Rockets that he is waiting for something else before he fires Chaney. So for now just root for a win and be heartbroken if we lose.

Knicks Destroy the Mavs IMO. Stephon is better than Nash, KVH is better than Antoine, KT is better than Dirk and H2O is better than Finely so NY wins just by pure talent. Oh and dont forget that Chaney is a better coach than Don Nelson.

i want chaney to win. dont want thomas coaching the knicks. chaney sucks as a coach, but he has so much talent that he should be winning some games, almost by chance. yes, his substitutions are lame, but isiah would not be any better.

what i never understand is why assistant coaches are promoted when head coaches are fired. the asst coaches, if any good, should be able to impact the team from their asst coach spot and not let the head coach crash and burn...

There can be a variety of reason for promoting an asst. coach:

1) In season, it can be tough to find a replacement.
2) They can continue the system put in by the fired head coach (teaching a new one in season can be problematic).
3) They are often cheaper since big names aren't usualy asst. coaches.

But the situation in NY is different because of Isiah's past relationship with Malone.

Remember the Lakers right before Jax got there? Not that I disagree with you completely...but coaching plays a role.

Players aren't paid to coach themselves. They should not have to do the coach's job for him. This team can win MORE with a coach who has a better angle at getting the most out of his team is brought in. Brendan Malone did that (or at least showed flashes of it) when he was HC of the Raps. They actually had to tell him to not win so many games. It's why Malone eventually got fired. The Raps (as in the faction that Zeke himself had beef with) wanted more draft picks, and having a coach maximizing his players' ability to contribute and winning games was not conducive to that cause.

IMO We need someone who's willing to put in the work to earn his money. This team can't win? Okay, let's bring in another coach like Brendan Malone and let's find that out.

if you had a 500mm$ team and you felt that your coach wasnt getting it done, what would stop you from firing him? don chaney is just a scapegoat for a poor roster. they are baiting time here. they will can him--they are just trying to get these guys to play together so that the new coach[which will NOT be someone in this organization] has a better chance to make them look smart. hey how about getting beat tonight and starting the new coach at home against the worst team in the league? thats a thought! im not saying chaney is a good or bad coach and he DESERVES to be canned, what i do believe is this team is not very good as is.

Case has a point though. Isiah's substituions in Indiana were pretty bad and he had a lot lot more talent than NY can have for a long time. We can never match Artest and Jermaine with H2O and Stephon. He never lead them out of the first round. Although Isiah is an improvement over Chaney he isn't the coaching solution.

Lets just hope Zeke is in it to beat Larry as a GM. He brings us Pat Reily or Doc Rivers and a low post guy and we dance with the Lakers in April. GO NY GO NY GO!!

The Mavericks lost four the sixth time in seven road games and is 0-5 on the road against the East. Dallas is 4-13 overall away from home. ... The Mavericks are 4-13 when their opponent scores more than 100 points. How will we score 100 points against the mavs to guarantee a win? With KVH day to day he gets most of the run in his spot ...Penny aka nickel?

Penny makes 13mm a year--i think that qualifies him as an adequate fill in. Dallas is on the third game in 4 nights on the road back to back. They are 4-13 on the road. The Knicks if they are a good team should win this at home. weve had quality practice time and 3 games as is. no excuses --- let the game dictate what level this team is on.
