Interesting Lebron quote from Larry King interview: "It will be fun to get all the free agents together and figure out a way how we can make the league better." Sounds like David Stern's mini me - I wouldn't doubt if Stern has talked to Lebron, strictly off-the-record of course (no rules on commish talking to players), and encouraged a move to high value (high ratings) destinations like NYC.

Same interview says he can't be responsible for "saving [Cleveland] economically" - people like to talk about pressure of playing in NYC, but how does that compare to saving a friggin' major city's economy?

Lebron + 1 is so coming to the Knicks.

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

Not for nothing. Lebron is a bit of a tool. Just win championships dude and everything will work itself out.

“Do you lean at all toward the place you know the best? I mean do they have an edge going in?” King asked.

“Absolutely,” James said. ”Because, you know, this city, these fans, I mean, have given me a lot in these seven years. And, you know, for me, it’s comfortable. So I’ve got a lot of memories here. And – and so it does have an edge…”

I cannot lie - if LeBron James turns us down after putting us through hell the last 2 years, I'll hate him on a Michael Jordan/Tim Hardaway/Reggie Miller/Hitler/Osama level. If he plans on staying with Cleveland all along and just wants to use these teams and milk their recruitmenting for everything they got, it's just wrong. These recruiting efforts are not cheap. Either visit New York and don't leave here without a contract or don't visit at all and stay in that hole in Cleveland.

James thinks he and Chris Bosh or he and Dwyane Wade would improve any team's fortunes greatly.
"If you put me and Bosh on the same team, if you put me and Wade on the same team, a lot of teams would be much better."
James talked about whether location will be important to him.
"It's not always about the city. It's about winning."

Regarding the Clippers, James said: "Some really nice, solid pieces that, you know, if they add a free agent, it could be a really good team."

Even though he talks about the Cavs (gotta start saving face with the home crowd), the fact that his emphasis is on playing WITH either Bosh or Wade makes me think the Knicks are the real front runners. We are the only team that can sign two max guys outright. Chicago could grab Bosh in a S&T, but Toronto would have to like what they are getting back. Plus, the whole Jordan legacy thing can't be overlooked and the problem with Rose needing to dominate the ball to be effective. Miami? Something tells me that's just not the town for the King. New York? Naturally.

A lot of news reports are excluding the comment immediately after that, where LeBron almost slips and says it's a very slight edge:

JAMES: Absolutely. Because, you know, this city, these fans, I mean, have given me a lot in these seven years. And, you know, for me, it's comfortable. So I've got a lot of memories here. And -- and so it does have an edge.
But it's a -- it's a very -- it's going to be a very interesting summer and I'm looking forward to it.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it. Larry King specifically asked a leading question about whether he is leaning toward his home team. Don't really see how LeBron can give any other answer than the one he gave above.

Can we start a segment, maybe a reality tv show like the Tim Roth character that can tell if he is being truthful.

Its amazing the amount of airplay and discussion this thing is getting DAILY. Its comical.

Dudes even here are coming undone!

WE can over analyze this to death. Its getting fun!

Now you know this man could have a distinct advantage...able to keep one eye on the ball and one on his man. Good potential as an off the ball defender kind of like .. this fella from Houston.

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

By that statement he was taking a shot at the Lakers and Celtics. The FAs can get together and make the NBA more competitive. No just the Lakers and Celtics fraud show.
