Knicks of old would not embarrass themselves.

YESTERDAY KNICKS 3

TODAY CELTs 3

I yearn for them old days. Knock em down fist-a-cuffs basketball. Take no prisoners

These Celtics got it too easy with the CAVs and now MAGIC.

With the Old NY Knicks wish I had a time-machine to create CELTs Big 3 vs. KNICKS Big 3 of 90's
in playoff action.

There would be lots of fights and bruises. Can you imagine ? the arrogant Big baby making faces
and mocky when he scores a basket agains Anthony 'Mase' Mason.

Mason would knock big baby on his hiney!

Yep I'd bet $cash the old Knicks would have not taken any crap from these new Celtics.
They'd be smack talking and butts walking falling to the floor.

I'd love every second of it.

The way teams like Magic (done) and Lakers or whole NBA gonna ever beat team like Celtics
is to play with force and knock em' all over the hardwood because simple Celtics play that
way!

The suddenly bullish Kevin Garnett would succumb to Charles Oakley. He'd need Center Perkins
to help him and Oakley would take both of them out but throw in the X-man Xavier McDaniel and
the Perkins - Garnett combo would be done!

I think Mike is telling Pippen not to worry about X-Man. Scottie, I got it arranged he won't be a Knick next year.

That pic is weird. Looks like Garnett shrunk, while Pierce and Allen got taller. Hmmm...
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

We would lose.

Those trios in their absolute primes going 3vs3?

We lose.

Probably embarrassed!

No chance. Starks defended Jordan as well as anyone and could keep pierce in check. The Oak man would have smacked Garnett in his face if he tried that fake ass tough guy routine. He is such a chump it's embarrassing. Cursing and screaming and then pleading his case to the refs. Ewing would put him in the rim.

.......and the knicks would still lose in 7 games. If not, lakers would run them out of the building.

Kobe/Pau is modern version of Jordan/McHale, or if you would Bird(Kobe)-McHale(Pau)-Parish(Bynum).......

BLah blah...........

Knicks would foul out with modern rules in first half.

The old days, Smash mouth unfulfiled promise cannot defeat baskeball talent.

Rondo would run us out of the building. Big Baby with the old rules might not be such a baby.

You Kidding !
We'd have a WWE handicap match

First of all Charles Oakley and John Starks can handle KGarnett, R.Allen and Paul (all mouth) Pierce
all by themselves without Patrick.

If its a handicap match Pat Ewing against KGarnett with Ewing laying that Jamaican backhand slap
and pat-wa talk all on KG, KG would re-injure himself be done! kaput.

Ray Allen would run away from John Starks after seeing the Reggie Miller 'headbutt' tape

That would leave Charles Oakman vs Paul Pierce a mismatch, ref would halt the bout.

Slightly off topic, but the 99' team with a healthy Camby, Houston and Spree would be a better match-up imo.

Both have/had grit, defense, speed and ability to stretch D.

Where is the pride? The Knicks of the 90s would do well against these guys. Ewing would destroy Perkins and any double team the sent after Ewing. Starks for ray Allen on his nut....x-man vs. Pee Pee and oak vs kg is must see tv. I think it would be a wash. And someone is getting hurt. Those cheap elbows and cursing would cease after game one of a 7 game series. Btw...wasn't Gerald Wilkins on the team with XMan? Knicks were deep that year. And they could still run with Jax at the point....yeah Rondo would bust his ass but he'd have to play defense too....and Ewing is partoling the paint so its all good.

Since when did we have a "big 3"? Starks and Oakley were decent NBA players, failing to surround prime Patrick with a legit 2nd or 3rd fiddle is the reason we didn't win a title. The supporting cast around Patrick got better in the Van Gundy years but Ewing was diminished at that point.

It really makes me sad how horrid our organization has been from a front office perspective. People only focus on the past 10 years, but its much longer than that. It was covered up for a time because we lucked into Patrick Ewing in the lottery (and then failed to surround him with a decent cast until it was too late). The fact that John Starks (I loved him as much as any Knick fan, but cmon) could be considered one of the "big 3" on a team during the prime of a first ballot Hall Of Fame big man shows how much we wasted those years

Random: Why is that pic from the 92 playoffs in black and white? Makes me feel old.

Oak grows in stature.

Now they are like video game cartoon superheros to some of you.

Ray, KG and Pierce are at the end of thier powers.

Which imaginary knick team are thing thinking? Pick a year, not your collective fantasy.

I agree with you with passing of time everyone looks at our past Knicks as though they were a legendary group. I for one liked Oakley for his toughness. But his game left a lot to be desired. I always felt they should have dumped Oak for Cliff Robinson. Funny how soon as they dumped Oakley for Camby the Knicks went right back to the finals. Oak had like a 2 inch vertical nothing got me more frustrated than him blowing a layup because he was looking for the and one all the time.

I don't think the Knicks would be crushed by this Celtic team. If they could take Jordans Bulls to the max in 92, take them to 6 in 93 even with the abortion that was the Charles Smith game, this Celtic team isn't flicking them aside with ease. The 08 Celtics went 7 games with the 36 win Hawks and a 1-man LeBron team, the Knicks could have given them a series. I would lean Celtics because they are more talented, but a prime early 90s Patrick Ewing would have been the best player on the floor, by a good margin. Hes better than any version of KG the Celts have had

starks only looked like he defended MJ well (meaning he didn't back down), dude still pumped in 55pts on his ass...Don't get me wrong stark was a very agressive defender, but reggie, and mj always lit him up til he got so fustrated

Howard doesn't have the offensive game Ewing had. Celts would need to double Ew and that would change a lot. Also, Pierce and Allen would weaar out running thru screens set by Oak, Ew, Mason and X.

Can't sleep on X-man, Mase and Oakley....3 of the toughest mofo's ever at the forward spots. Pat Riley would take Ewing out just to have those 3 beat the snot out of these jokers. These 3 would not tolerate PP running his mouth and they will absolutely not tolerate KG screaming at the top of his lungs and throwing sneaky elbows....Best believe someone is getting kicked out the game and sent to the dentist.

REMEMBER!!!

Let's not forget how good michael Jordan was...the Knicks were killing Scottie Pippen that series in 92'...Jordan even with the abuse never backed down and actually rose above the abuse and drop 42 in one game. He was a beast...Jordan in his prime would have his way with the rules being what they are today. The Knicks were muggers back in the day.....damn I miss those days....btw...don't sleep cuz that team scored baskets too!
