ESPN's Broussard Claims Bulls Are LeBron's Top Pick If He Leaves Cavs

May 12, 2010 11:19 AM EST

ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard made an early TV appearance on Wednesday, saying the Bulls are LeBron James' No. 1 option should he leave the Cavaliers.

Broussard is an Ohio native and very close to James and his inner circle.

LeBron James cannot go to Chicago. He'll always be in Michael Jordan's shadow. And if he doesn't win 6 or 7 rings, his career will be labled a failure.

Thats stupid. Why did Shaq go to LA to be in Kareems shadow--why does anyone go to LA for that matter?

Face it Chicago is way better destination because of the team they have in place.

Kareem is not the icon Michael Jordan is. And the Lakers have a tradition of great Centers. It's different.

I agree. That's nonsense. Michael Jordan retired many years ago.
Why does anyone go to play for the Yankees? Lots of shadows there. BOO!

Keep also in mind he did say he hopes LeBron James doesn't sign with New York.

briggs, i'm sorry, but this is typical knicks fan reaction. broussard is the one voice saying he'll go to the bulls. you think broussard has any inside info? i highly doubt it.

good lord, these next 49 days can't pass quickly enough.

Lebron has also expressed a lot of disdain for the Bulls and their tactics trying to guard him.

He's never spoken as highly about the Bulls as he did about the Knicks and playing in MSG.

Read whichever tea leaves you want to read. No one will know for sure until he signs the dotted line, as they say.

Yeah, I just dont see it with the Bulls. If the Knicks sign another star to go with Lebron this off-season, then I think that our team would be superior than the one that Bulls could put out with Lebron.

But in an overall sense, why would he want to follow in Jordan's footsteps? Even if he went to the Bulls and did his thing, it would have such a "been there, done that" feel. The Knicks havent won a chip in damn near 40 years and have never had a transcendent, iconic superstar. Combine that with it being the largest media capital in the world and the choice is pretty clear.

I saw that this morning but was thinking as they discussed that its been a while since Mike played and thats no big deal.

Noah is a good player but the key is really DRose. I think Rose really needs the ball to be effective and Lebron does also.

I don't remember where I read it but it was suggested that Lebron be our point guard as his court vision is off the charts and that aspect should be expanded. Lebron could do what Nash did and I think be even better at it.

A trio of Bosch-Lebron- and the emerging Gallo would be awsome. Gallo is better than Wally and bosh is better than anyone Lebron has had to play with. Knicks are not that far off. They get Eddy's cap space the next year and have an owner who will go over.

Bulls have goofy owner with goofy management. Always been that way even with Krause.

My instinct says he gives the Cavs two more years then he goes the way of the Russian to Brooklyn.

But I hope he bolts this summer.

Well, that would make the paperwork make sense. You know, because LBJ *wanted* to give up 23

But then again Bron and Bosh has a nice ring to it

Lebron needs his own number anyway.

Kobe needed 24. 8 was in honor of his childhood idol:

It doesn't matter... see, LeBron just wants everyone to know it was his *choice* to witch numbers and every should have to give up 23 too God damn it
