These guys aren't stupid. They know he kicked Marcus Camby and Sprewell off the team and has had in hands in on other deals---- has run the worst organization in professional sports for 10 years running and doesn't seem like he is not really interested in winning a championship---

other than being offered more money in a certain situation--exactly why would I come work for a little Napoleon owner with a poor attitude?

You forgot about Ewing and how he ran Van Gundy out of town! I am sure the players consider him a problem if they are thinking about NYC.

NY fans and media are also a big factors to say no.
If some star want pease of mind NYC is not a place to go.

This thread might be a reach. As long as his checks clear, players will come. He's just a dummy, but I havent heard about him building up any animosity throughout the league. Most of the examples cited in this thread happened years ago.

Dolan is known threw out the NBA as an owner that has deep pockets.

so if a player says no cuz of the owner, what is there to do about it? hek, they can say no cuz of:
media
fans
dont like the city
coach
asst coach(s)
style of play
certain players(s)

not much you can do about those reasons...

All of the perceptions you guys bring up change the second we get a good player to come here. It won't matter if it's a trade or FA. We don't have a team right now. All we have are Gallo, Chan, TD and some cap holds. When Walsh gets to talkin he's gonna be making the point that we'll be building a team around the stars over the next few years and they'll know that Dolan will spare no expense to make them happy and add needed talent. We'll never be in a situation where we're worried about spending money. Dolan has a lot of faults but spending isn't one of them.

I would say without a doubt he has some negative impact but there are other variables at play which we are all aware of.

I wish Dolan would sell the team, but who knows when that will happen.

if your a player how much interaction do you really have with the owner? And Dolan pays. He pays his own players, and he will carry a large payroll if the Knicks are a playoff team.

How did Dolan kick Camby out? Layden traded him for McDyess

Well as the storie gos Spree and Camby was at some sort of cable vision meeting when they got up and left right in the middle of it.Dolan felt direspected and told Layden to trade em the rest is history.
