heavy rumors say the deal has been agreed to.

of course...it's all rumors at this point but here are some signs that there may be smoke to this fire:

- rumor of bosh/bynum surface at the trade deadline
- colangelo, in postseason presser, said there is a market for bosh w/ over the cap teams
- bosh only mentioned one team in his post season presser and that was the lakers, and specifically mentioned pau and kobe

from a raptors POV, this is as good a deal as you can get for bosh. phil always loved bosh and i think he would fit in with pau + kobe quite well.

and since bynum makes $13.8 mil next year, it can be a straight up trade for bosh getting the max.

briggs, i got a raptors hat with your name on it...

The rich get richer while the Knicks cry over draft picks. Such is life. But would Bosh agree to play third fiddle?

that's the question. but it was very weird b/c everything he said up to the post season presser said he would like to be the man built around...but in the presser, he said it would be nice to be the guy being built around but he also realizes he can get his shine like pau did with kobe in the lakers. but i think this is also made with the idea that kobe needs some breaks as he is getting older.

I will quit in the NBA if the Raptors really trade for a perennially injured underachieving center with a long term deal and give up an all-star to the Lakers in the process.

I mean c'mon. I'd rather have David Lee if that was the case. Would you really take Bynum over Lee?

Sorry, just because he is tall and can block some shots doesn't make him appealing when he is constantly hurt and mediocre during the regular season.

The one thing with Bynum is he needs to find the right trainer to work out the strength structure in his legs. I was reading about the way Pheonix helped Mcdyess--and look how well he has held up from what was as serious a series of injuries to one knee as you get. Colangelo has those ties to Phoenix and probably could get Bynum back to his 2007 level.

When healthy in the pivot--Bynum is easily a 20-10-3 C. The difference between Lee and Bynum is Bynum can be a first team all defensive player.

he has 3 years left on his deal.

bynum or lee? i take bynum. he is injury prone but he has a load of potential and is only 22. he's worth the risk. lee with bargs wouldn't make sense.

The fact remains he routinely destroys Lee in head to head matchups. So would I take him over Lee, absolutely!
^^ Was talking about Bosh here, later realized Q was about Bynum

Bynum never averaged those numbers and hasn't shown he can.

Also the key is "when healthy". He hasn't been healthy in 3 seasons, regardless of his age. It's a pretty bad deal for the Raptors. I don't care how others try to spin it. I'd rather get nothing for Bosh than take Bynum. That's just the way I look at it.

That's not a bad deal for the Raptors--what exactly did Chris Bosh win in Toronto? Bynum is a main cog on a team that has a great chance to win it all again.

A deal like that may actually be good for the Knicks. It might prompt Lebron into thinking he MUST align with another superstar to compete and that makes NY a more likely destination because we have enough space for two.

i think he's saying maybe this makes lebron want to come to the knicks (because they can get 2 max FA) with someone else .. amare, joe johnson, wade, whoever.

I thought this was common knowledge. Everyone in LA is getting old so Bosh will be "the man" by default in 2 yrs.

But I think Briggs point is that it seems that the well is drying up according to reports. Amare looks to be reuping in Phoenix or going directly to South Beach. With this Bosh to LA stuff now. Who's left. Even Atlanta is talking about making Johnson happy. That whoever is becoming smaller and smaller.

? how can you trade $13.8 for Bosh getting the max? It would have to be bynum + something for Bosh, right?

i think bosh's max starts at $17.5 which is within the 25% range of $13.8...but lakers will most likely make us take back walton or possibly expand to include odom for reggie evans expiring.

I understand that point but as of right now Amar'e hasn't resigned with Phoenix and JJ isn't back in Atlanta. We'll see what happens. The sky isn't falling yet.

I think Toronto would prefer to trade Bosh to the Western Conference(Lakers, Houston, Etc) the same applies for the Lakers. This deal really benefits Toronto because now Bargnani can slide to PF and Hedo can go back to dribbling all the time.
