The more i read this forum the more i am reminded of this...

I've been working on it for years...

really, what's the point?

to argue?

to feel "superior"

who remembers? is that really important?

i happen to think it's unhealthy to worry about the knicks' recent history of misfortune and assume that is the way it will be...

funny, since that doesn't necessarily apply to my own general view of the world...

either way, instead of angsting about every possible negative or how we will get the best players, why not just sit back and see what happens...

if we don't land lebron our life is not over.

if wade and/or amar'e resigns or goes elsewhere, our team won't necessarily be terrible for another 10 years.

perspective is important even when we've suffered...which we all have as dedicated fans.

maybe it's devine justice for having the city that has teams with the most money and several title contending teams...

if you're the superstitious type..

or maybe it's just regression, probability, chance...luck, statistics, old strategies that have failed...new strategies that we are unfamiliar with or are not as well tested...

we are just a bunch of shook/scared mfers....paranoid about staying a wack team. admit it.

then accept it, and see that we won't be forever.

that's a very hard thing to see when one feels traumatized...

and i don't expect those who are feeling this the most, most scared, most pessimistic to believe this, and stop envying all other teams, gms, coaches, etc.

anyway, in a few years we will see where we are....our patience is being tested...

so, man the f up...

peace-ahhh!

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

I think everyone in here, pessimistic or not, agree on a much brighter future.

I'm just looking forward to a whole new season with a team which at the least have filled some glaring needs. We have some promising young guys who can benefit greatly from the upcoming off-season. And if we actually do resign Lee, then I'm looking forward to see what he's spent his summertime doing. We're more than alright imho

I'm just hoping for finally getting rid of players that have a losing mentality. I have been so happy with the Jets and how they're going about things lately and of course the Yankees. For me the only thing that would make my sports life complete now would be for the Knicks to once again be a respected franchise around the league. Remember when teams used to fear us and we were a constant playoff team? I want that kind of feeling again.
It's about more than Lebron. It's about a direction that puts the franchise on the same kind of path as a winning franchise like San Antonio. Just smart moves and responsibility.

Word. We definitely (and finally) heading in a positive direction now. Thanks you, Donnie, for that at least. And I imagine if we get some real ballers, we are going to make the most of MDAs high scoring system.

I don't need a positive direction. I need a positive result.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

That's why I rarely sit and argue with anyone here anymore. Nobody ends up changing opinions and it most likely leads to individuals having bad blood with eachother and the topic getting locked. The Knicks aren't worth the text we waste on them.

you'll never win an argument on opinion on something as inconsequential as sports. Now, discussion can usually highlight the proper answer. Adversarial, combativeness, chest-beating posts really just get people to dig in their heels. Some people really care about being right and some people are scared of being wrong--who cares. The opinions had literally no influence on the outcomes. And unless you're going to tell me that a trade, signing, or coaching/management change is going to be made before the media reports it, I really don't care about your posting history (edit:) or you're someone like Blueseats who was in such a significant minority, took an unrelenting beating for his stance, stuck to his guns, and ended up being right and chose *NOT* to play the I-told-you-so game

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

once people realize that most opinions have absolutely no basis in fact but, are in truth emotional responses to various stimuli (so & so is attractive is just one example.)

arguing with someone over an opinion is a wast of time, effort, oxygen & carbon dioxide :)

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

We can argue where we are or were we are going.

Nobody knows where we are going.

It ain't that serious...A place for lively debate is good, makes the forum interesting...No need to change anyone's mind...We don't always have to agree on how we get there, just as long as we get there..This ain't the UN..We aren't talking world peace or global hunger here...Let the ruckus continue!!!!

I love how the very thing you complain about, you go on and do through this entire post. Any fan base is going to complain when their team is terrible, heck even teams that are good have fan bases that still bitch. Did honestly think fans would not complain while the Knicks file away another 50 loss season?

Last 2 yrs under Danphoney we were the punks of the league and got beat down !

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Yeah, as opposed to the Isiah Thomas glory days.

Not only are you a paranoid conspiracy theorist, you also have a short term memory. Nice.

^ It's funny, but our last winning team was when we were coached by the guy you hated the most. Yes, he left when we were above .500. Do the 'search.

Also, the post I wrote there was not long after I macked two hot chicks, so maybe that's why it's so "chippy"-ish..

Allanfan, don'tget it twisted ! Vandummy ran his course people figured him out . Where ever he coached NY & Houston he was limited in offensive strategy just like Danphoney is defensively.

Vandummy piggy backed Pat Riley's style and adopted Riley's players , Danphoney used rec ball tempo to entertain andscore points (ABA) , but never understood that defensive win championships in the NBA.

playa - i thought van gundy was a pretty good coach and why not take after his mentor riley? those were the last teams that played with heart. question is - who would you like to see as coach and why?
