PG Ray Felton ($8M yr 1) / Toney
SG Chandler / Walker
SF Gallo / Chandler
PF DLee ($9M yr 1) / Gallo
C Bosh (Max) / Barron

dynamic front court in gallo/dlee/bosh. smart, heady PG in Felton.

use curry's contract to get a SG or more front court help at the trade deadline.

Lee/bosh is too weak. We need a bigger guy than Bosh at C. Bosh has a slight build for a PF. I think he wears down banging with no bigger guy to help. As for Felton I hope we can get someone much more dynamic. We really need a breakdown guard that creates for others and himself and can be a go to guy late in games.

It's either Lee or Bosh. I can't see them flourishing together. Jermaine ONeal would be a better fit with DLee and I don't want that to happen.

my plan for this off season

close eyes real tight, hope it goes away.

Flinch when I hear who we over paid for, got who's over the hill.

Adopt a new team to root for as a new year's resolution.

Never look back!

I hear you man. I'm guardedly optimistic, but in my gut, I just feel we're going to come away with has-beens, as usual.

Look - Camby just got extended or is about to- and at $10 a year. And while I'd love to get him, not at that kind of money.

So this summer- we're probably striking out with the top tier.

And I'll puke when they introduce Joe Johnson. And Lee may not play defense, but chances are if we don't lose him, we're giving him the kind of dollars that will kill our franchise- much like H20's deal did.

And then we'll have five more years of 30-40 win seasons, and no draft picks.

No hate, he's a good talent. But he's "very good" in a league where you need greatness. If we went through all of this just to sign him, then it will have been a waste of time.

Plus, he's peaked as a player.

I would love to see Lee back but only if we get a legitimate superstar like Lebron or Wade. Despite all the hate Lee gets around here, he would be a great second option to a superstar. He is a tremendous offensive player, a great passer, and is extremely unselfish. And Lee would like 100 times better if DW can acquire a defensive minded center to play center. And you can even make the argument that playing with a guy like Lebron who forces his teammates to play defense will make Lee a better defender. But we cannot come out of the "2010 Plan" with Lee as our main/major FA signing. DW really has to evaluate which players would fit together because although Bosh is better than Lee I think Lee would complement Lebron and Wade better. On the other hand, Bosh would be better with Gay and Johnson because Bosh is more of a #1 scorer compared to Lee.

I keep thinking how Dalembert could be acquired this off season - perhaps just a cap relief move where we trade a token player to them.

Give me a front line of Lee, Dalember & Gallo - that looks pretty decent and dare I say, realistic- save for the part about MDA not wanting a defensive minded center with very little offensive game.

Then - if only we had had our own picks, I wouldn't mind trying to get a player like Gay - because then you've got a mix of players that might blend and turn into a team- but you have the safety of your own picks so if you suck, or if things don't turn out like you hoped, you can press the reset switch and swap out guys and begin a rebuild again.

As it stands now - we're committed, all in, not merely on Lebron, but in having the team that gets assembled this off season be the one that we go to war with for the next 3-5 years.

I had been focused on OK4 but Dalembert is another very good option. Doesnt need the ball on defense but add him to the front line and it completely changes the makeup of our team. Phili is close to luxury land, but I would think they would want something back. At least Chandler or Douglas. Not sure what the cost would be.

You notice that Earl barron was finding himself wide open on the perimeter, you notice Lee ( who played center for us) ended up a deadly perimeter shooter, you notice how Amare came into the league with no jump shot, but now has a respectable one.

You guys are looking at these defense Centers that will end up spending more time on the bench if they can't consisitanly hit the open jumper.

Agreed, Dalembert would be a very good option if he's gettable. I wonder though if could stomach a player like that.

If Camby really gets $25M for two years, or even $21M plus incentives... the price on Dalembert goes waaaay up.

If Camby is off the list of options, I suspect Jermaine O'Neal, an Arn Tellem client and a guy Donnie traded for before in Indiana, will be high on the list of centers.

I really dont get the anti-Lee sentiment here, I just dont. Bosh is so soft. His teams have missed the playoffs twice in a row now. He gets banged up a lot. Meanwhile Lee never misses games and gets better every year but gets labeled a soft stat stuffer.

Camby is about to get $12mm a year and he's like 50 years old. Look at the contracts OK4 got, Brand got, Dampier, Murphy, Jamison, Marion, Gortat, Milsap, Boozer, etc etc etc.

Giving Lee 6 years and $70mm starting him at $9mm next year is a BARGAIN for an all star 20/12/55% guy with point forward skills.

Anyway...

crzy.. I dont like it. Why Felton? Why not get a playmaking wing like Livingston, Mike Miller or even Joe Johnson so Toney Douglas can start at PG? That improves us defensively because TD is our best defender on the wing and the guy can really score.

My #1 focus would be adding Lebron, Amare or Wade in that order. The only way Lee doesnt come back is if I can sign 2 of those guys. Remember for another team to match my 6 years $70mm offer starting at $9mm they need to start Lee at $12mm.

If I cant get one of those big 3 I offer Bosh a max deal, resign Lee and use the remaining money to fill out the roster and get a play maker like Livingston or Mike Miller.
If I cant get Bosh I turn to Tyrus Thomas. After that look to add a guy like OK4 or Dalembert. Maybe even Brandon Haywood to play center next to Lee.

My focus is a defensive shot blocking center, moving Lee to PF and getting a playmaker on the wing like Mike Miller or Livingston, a guy big enough to start at the SG spot so Douglas can play PG. He's not ready to run an NBA offense, but he can certainl score and defend in this league right now.

That addresses our biggest needs in size, defense and playmaking. It helps us improve from within by maximizing what we can get from Lee and Douglas.
