Though Knicks has two 2010 Drafts in June's draft upcoming it would be nice to secure another pick if Donnie Walsh can pick it up.
Presume a second rounder, since I'm unsure if Knicks had chance at late 1st rounder I dont know if it affects their $Cap $$ plans.

There are lots of NCAA guys declaring eligible for draft and some of them can play. This draft will be deeper than originally expected and it already was expected to be a decent draft.

I can't wait and since Donnie Walsh was annoyed at his scouts overlooking B.Jennings in 2009 and I dont think NY will forgoe not researching again and I believe Walsh will get the right thing done with drafts and FA's signings
2010 and 2011.

Here are few guys coming out worth mentioning that NYK can look at & some of em' we knew and seen in the ncaa tourney games. Only question is some may go in 1st round OR late 1st round at most. Few others won't and can be available round 2.

Larry Sanders
Jordan Crawford
Eric Bledsoe
Paul George
Lance Stephenson
Hassan Whiteside
Xavier Henry
Solomon Alabi
Ed Davis
Sherron Collins
Willie Warren
Scottie Reynolds
Devin Ebanks

Any other draft eligibles ? whom may slip to round 2 of draft. We need young talented guys.
Danillo and Toney Douglas already on their way to developing. I am not sure on Chandler yet
I like Wes but if we can get experienced PF whom isnt too old I'd consider trading him.

For example, would you rather have Chandler ? or Jeff Green of Thunder?

Can also draft a Euro and incubate him for a year or two until his buy out expires or further matures.

Id like to move up to 25 or so and get Fredette. I think he can help the team from day 1. Were in a fair position with two picks in the 30's--usually that can yield at least 1 nice find.

Maybe Donnie can once again purchase a late first rounder. Memphis and Minny are possible targets as they have multiple picks.

How many picks do we need? Two is enough so we can have a good rokie and a bad rookie.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I don't see us picking more than twice. I wouldn't mind if we could use 2-3mm and one of the picks to swap up into the 20's and complete the trade after the FA period.

If Whiteside slipped down to the 16-20 level--I would be very willing to give up both 30 picks and 2-3mm to grab him. I know he may not be a super contributor from day 1 but that is the type of guy I want on my roster to develop while he plays a smallish role year 1. Acquiring an athletic 5 to me is of the utmost importance--even if I have to wait a bit for development. This is how you keep your team competitive for 10+ years--having a great base team and 2-3 guys who plays smaller roles--like Jermaine Oneal did and then bang. I do not always base the draft on what is today but what I will have in 2-3 years.

Walsh should try to move into the first round and give Renardo Sidney a guarantee that we will select him.

We are looking to use maximum cap space on free agents.

Don't look for us to add ANY 2010 FIRST rounders at all: They have guaranteed salary. That would cause us problems.

Don't look for us to waste much time trying to acquire more 2010 2nd rounders for again we're looking at free agency and not the draft this year. We already have two anyway. At best maybe we try to trade both of them for the first pick in the second round.

Next summer is the summer you look to get picks if you can.

Not this year.

Yes. And then it counts against the summer cap in a cap hold. Which will take us out of the "2 max contract" ability.

So we won't be doing that.

Besides, don't we have enough "role" players now? Chandler, Douglas, Walker... perhaps SRod, Barron....

We're fishing for franchise players this summer. Nothing more.

You can make a deal for a 1st rounder and trade rights after FA is done--it's pretty simple. Also I would NEVER discount any possible way to improve the team. There is no way that I automatically lock to max FA into slots if one of the name sis not Lebron. There is no other player worth it who will come here. I would overpay for Bosh to the max IF David would take 6 years 63mm$

No other player beyond Stoudemire and Bosh are maximum players anyway. Wade isnt coming and it doesnt appear as if LBJ is either. So I would be willing to overpay for Bosh but no one else.

Id be willing to trade Wilson Chandler for Hassan Whiteside. I think we can replace Wilson--getting a 7 foot athletic shotblocker with his kind of scary upside is not an easy task. If I had pick 1 I would trade down and pick up an extra 1 next year to get Whiteside--that's how good I think he will be.

trading wilson for a 1st rd pick can work since we wont be losing any cap space. for the right player i would be open to that option.

well i rather have the youth and possible upside of developing rookie picks than
a 12man knicks roster where 1/2 roster (5 -6 ) are bad nba players which is normal
for knicks teams since the marbury years.

-C.Duhon
-Johnathan Bender
-J.R. Giddens
-Al Harrington
-E.Curry

Sergio Rodriguez OR Eddie House (pick em').
I like both but you cannot go into 2010/11 with both of these guards on your NBA team if you're serious.
The flaws outweighs the knick needs.

Players are just flowing into this draft--good for the Knicks--makes me think some guys will stay--especially Kemba Walker who probably could be a lottery pick or close to it.

We need a third rookie who is good that MDA can ignore and leave on the bench. Good rookie, Bad rookie, and ignored rookie. Fills out the roster nicely.
