At the moment, they're matched with Orlando. If Miami hadn't gotten red-hot (they've won 9 straight) - they'd be matched with Atlanta and could probably take them out. They're only 2 games behind Miami so it's not impossible to go up to #6.

True, but it doesn't make him any less of a fickle, old weasel.

We have run off (in his prime) Nellie, Lenny, and Larry.

Not quite Winken, Blinken and Nod, but some of you want MDA gone also.

Nelson ran himself out of town and Lenny was over the hill and an overrated coach. Larry did not deserve to go way back when and I expressed my anger for that move at the time. I was upset that Isiah was still allowed to remain with the team after 2 years of complete crap. People back then were calling me crazy and calling Larry the guy who "sabotaged" the Knicks. Surely they are a better team than 23 wins they said. 2 seasons later, we matched that win total again and the Isiah Era came to an end.

Lenny was so over the hill and overrated he guided us to a .500 record and only playoff berth of the decade.

Hooray for Lenny taking over mid-season and getting the 8th seed, only to be swept out of the playoffs. Good for him. He was still over the hill, hence the fact he retired after his NY coaching days were over.

Took him less than 2yrs as they were in the mix in December. It's a shame he got ran out of town here with the team giving up on him 2mos into his first year.

Considering what he did, the situation, and what he had to work with, Lenny Wilkens did a *phenomenal* job

I agree. 100%. Still cracks me up how people talked about his terrible rotations, etc. We stunk because a) our players stunk and b) our management stunk.

Larry's been a difference maker everywhere he's been, and what he did in Det was some of the best coaching of all time in this league.

I agree with this but at the same token he had an ulterior motive. He wanted Isiah's job too and went about it in a fashion that completely submarined the franchise. Had he come here just to coach things may have played out differently

agreed... people seemed to have forgotten the way things played out apparently... it was an untenable situation between the GM, head coach & star player at the time... unluckily for us the GM & star player won out on that one... the rest is history.

Larry conducted himself in a disgraceful manner in New York. There is no being proven right given that. None.

I thought BOTH Isiah and Larry should have been canned that summer. Acting like two little grade school kids who can't stop mixing it up every other day. Expel them.

In hindsight, if Larry HADNT thrown such an unprofessional year long hissy fit? Then I think most owners might have thought about dumping Isiah and giving Larry what he sought - and seen what he could do with it.

But again the way Larry conducted himself would never be rewarded with what he wanted. And shouldn't have under any circumstances.

That was the worst of the worst and inexcusable. I don't care what he does with Charlotte it doesn't vindicate him in New York. In fact, it makes him look more the fool. All he had to do was act rational and maybe he got his way. Instead he got into a bitch fight with Isiah and turned us into a big f'in JOKE. You don't reward that act you punish it.

Should have fired both immediately. But as we know Dolan is a fool....until Stern puts his foot on his throat. Then you saw Mills and Isiah canned and Walsh and the others brought in - most definitely on league "advice" (More like do this or we'll force you out of the league you idiot as we've done it before and can do it again.) <-- NBA forced Atlanta to clean up it's act if anyone forgets. Remember the 9 owners clawing their eyes out deal.

Larry is a jackass but he is The Coach.
Some people cannot get out of their ways. And sometimes this is the reason for their worth.
He was a wrong selection to get into the mess in NY.
We never had a chance at time.
But the ways of history are strange...
The debacle with LB helped to bring Isiah and his bloody gangs down eventually.

I agree with most here, LB took advantage of the media outlet in had in NY to get his points across. He only has perhaps 1 beat writer to deal with now so he can't go yapping and stiring up controversy to the papers everytime some kid plays poor defense or doesn't "PLAY THE RIGHT WAY".

They have Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, Felton, Chandler, DJ, Diaw let's not give him that much credit. The east is ****ing weak. That team has a short playoff window. Teams like the Bucks made the playoffs that is a better coaching job.

We really needed the Cats to play cleveland in the first round too bad the Raptors have played terrible down the stretch. They could actually really beat the cavs up.

That would be a fair assumption if Brown hadn't won in almost every situation he's been in with one glaring exception. Bobcats have had a talent for a few years.
