and we not that excited?

I know the grass is greener, so maybe around the land there are lamenting forums over why they did draft Gallo or did not make the Phantom trade with the knicks to move up and snag this kid!

He starts the season watching on the parimeter to putting up 31 on a contending team. This kid is turning into the real deal before out eyes week by week. Not a straight uptick mind you, not without its teaching moments but the kid has stayed healthy, kept his legs, kept his back, and progressed.

Other than be Durant/Bird/Jordan with all star statue, we gotta feel pretty good about him. And maybe Lebron too!

This kid was built to play along side Lebron. Easy buckets Italian style!

because he is, for all intents and purposes, still a rookie.

Consistency is the hardest thing to learn.

I'll admit, I'm warming up more to Danilo Gallinari. He's been much better in this second half of the season. He's not just standing in the corner playing Kyle Korver waiting for a spot-up jumper. He's actually taking command and driving the ball and posting up. I also LOVE - and this is the biggest reason I'm slowly changing my mind about him - how he doesn't take any BS from anyone. Not from Carmelo Anthony or that wannabe tough guy Kevin Garnett. KG tried to bully and scare him last night and Gallo immediately told him to knock it off.

Daily News:

Kevin Garnett glared at Danilo Gallinari and then tried to intimidate him with words before finally striking the Knicks second-year forward in the chest with an elbow.

"When that happens it's not good for the other team," Gallinari said with a wink. "You know that."

And now Garnett knows it as well.

THe frequency is picking up. Nate gone, Hughes gone, Wilson not on the court, the kid has taken the reigns the last few weeks.

He is not an allstar, and is still developing.

This usually how you develope young talent. With patience!

the key for this kid is always the same: get the F off the 3-point line.

last night's line:

3's: 1-4

2's: 9-11

ft's: 10-11

he sticks to this pattern he's a major scorer in this league.

Gallo should learn one thing from KG how to get his game face on and get mentally ready for each game. KG is crazy on the court and that's part of being a pro. It's not once in a while it's every night. Gallo needs some kind of mental ritual that can help him channel the aggressive side of himself. I think he'll get there cuz he wants to be one of the best.

exactly. he needs to bring that intensity every night.. Now it won't always produce big stats, but you can always impact the game in a positive way for your team.. and in the end I want impact players instead of stat padders....

Good point and I'll go a step further -- I want to see him bring it on the road. He plays great at home and is obviously very comfortable at the Garden. That's great. Let me see that kind of dominance in some road games now...All in all, he's coming along though and it's great to see..

How can we be excited over 31 pts for Gallo when Jordan Hill just scored 12 points?

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Exactly, him getting to the line is the biggest impact you can have in a game other then drawing DT, the fact that he needs to be tested in order to be agressive is non sense. You guy's keep given the excuse of being a rookie, but he has played proffesional ball since he was 16 years old.

I'm happy for his progress, and I know it's because of the system that he tends to either take AL/Nate type ridiculous shots or sits behind the arc and waits while Al goes 1 on 5.

The biggest diference last night was the ball movement and player movement

Bip said it months ago and will say it again. At the beginning of the season as many were whining about him being on the perimeter too much I said wait. He is on the perimeter because at the moment that is the only thing he does well. Btu with time you can see it in his game that he will drive more adn will post up more. Once again Bip was right. Now as he develops(because that's what 21 year olds do) he will get even stronger. Gone will be the days were opposing teams can guard him with 2 guards and point guards. Gone will be the days were guys like Ray Allen can push him out of the paint. Soon teams will be forced to put athletic wings on him. Guys like Iguodala and WAllace and Smith etc. This will take them out of the paint and spread the floor. You can see this isht coming a mile away. I'm trying to warn you!!

Next year you will see him in the post even more. He's going to be going to the line 5,6, 10 times a game on a regular basis. It's coming, mark my words. Stop listening to the whiners for your player analysis, and start listening to Bip. He knows what he is talking about.

I just hope that people will like me

well earlier in the year, the offense was also pick and roll heavy with duhon and lee.. since the benching of duhon, we have seen the ball move more.. I think gallo could have done some of these things earlier, I think it had a lot to do with him being more involved and confidence..

Last night, whenever he posted ray allen, there was nothing Ray could do. gallo was scoring with ease.....

gallo does get to the line and he has a knack for drawing fouls, which is huge.... especially when he puts the ball on the floor...

i think every Knick fan is happy to see Gallo succeeding whether they were high on him or not... there are some of us who preached patience with Gallo from the very beginning when others were pronouncing him a stiff legged Euro bust... so much for the theory some people seem to hold that Knick fans aren't willing to be patient while we build up through the draft... it's great to see a kid we drafted get playing time & his game growing as a result.

He is finally realizing that fighting for position down low earns him respect and the attention of teammates, and eventually some passes. A good PG, or any player for that matter, will reward a guy who digs in down low for position- especially when he is exploiting a size advantage.

Besides strength training in the off season, his #1 priority should be to work on post-up moves. I'd like to see Barron do the same thing. Hire Kevin McHale (not kidding here) for a few weeks so both Gallo and Barron can learn to use their length to their advantage. Hopefully McHale would also drill into his head that he can use the backboard to his advantage when in close at an angle to the basket, as well as 21 feet away near the top of the key.

Great to see him diversify his game yesterday, and over the past month for that matter, and not just stand in his corner waiting for the ball.

No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee
