Ex-Knick Robinson ready for 'emotional' return to Garden
April 6
New York Post

"Nate Robinson admits he may cry tonight at the Garden. That is, if he gets into the game.

Robinson makes his first return to the Garden since being traded to the Celtics on Feb. 18 -- and should receive an enormous ovation if Boston coach Doc Rivers plays him. Rivers yanked Robinson from the rotation in Boston's victory over Cleveland on Saturday that broke a three-game losing streak, so Robinson's Garden return is not good timing.

Rivers claims Robinson is out of the rotation for now as he goes with his best defensive lineup, but it would be hard to imagine Rivers giving Robinson a DNP on this night.

As The Post reported last month, the 5-foot-7½ Robinson will not be afforded a video tribute by Knicks brass, despite his five-year stint. But the Garden faithful will make up for Knicks management's lack of judgment with its thunder.

Eddy Curry, Robinson's best friend on the team, said: "I've talked to him. He said he may shed some tears. I said, 'What will you do if they give you a huge ovation?' He said he might cry. He's an emotional guy.""

I hope Nate Robinson get's in the game and receives a standing ovation. He had his flaws and wasn't perfect but he played his heart out. That's all you can ask for as a fan.

i'm sure he'll get a nice ovation from the fans... i'm sure MDA will say all the right things to Tina C after the game about how he never had a problem with Nate for that matter.

Or call him a 'bad' vet. You can never tell with him.

Rivers said Nate Robinson, who will return to New York tonight for the first time since being traded by the Knicks, and Marquis Daniels, are out of the playing rotation. Neither played Sunday against Cleveland.

Robinson has shot fewer than 39 percent as a Celtic and hasn’t scored in double figures since March 12. The club expected scoring punch off the bench and solid point guard play but Robinson has been tentative offensively. Rivers said he was upset that Robinson attempted a 3-point shot with 19.9 seconds left in the first quarter Friday against Houston with 19 seconds remaining on the shot clock.

He still thinks he's playing ssol

Earl Barron is the only Knick producing right now. I don't know if that is good or bad.

Rondo continues to make a lot of bonehead plays. I don't know about this guy. He has talent but I wonder how much of it is playing with star players. He made at least 8 foolish passes. Dude you're not Magic, stop it.
