on the level of livingston and garbajosa...

I'm on my cell so don't have a link but someone search for it on youtube.

he went up for the dunk...was parallel to the floor, fell down and tried to brace himself with his right arm and it basically snapped...

Saw a recording of the fall. Looked like Evan Turner's fall early in the college season. Did not see the second part when he tried to get up, and if it does show the arm "snapping" I probably won't be wanting to watch it.

Not a good finish for a scrappy and overachieving Milwaukee team.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I hope the big guy gets well by next season. This is what I hate worse about sports. Amare had no play to block it either. Players should be learn how to protect guys when they foul under the basket. I hate this.

Here's the word from ESPN... They're saying this is a dislocation and not a break.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut was hospitalized with a right elbow injury after falling hard to the floor and awkwardly twisting his arm against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night.

With the Bucks leading late in the second quarter, Bogut took a long outlet pass in for a fast break slam dunk. He hung on the rim afterward, was touched in the back by the Suns' Amare Stoudemire and crashed to the court. Bogut appeared to wrench his elbow on the way down, then hit his head.

Teammate Brandon Jennings said he saw Bogut's elbow "pop out" and believed it was dislocated.

"I thought it was broken," Jennings said.

While the injury certainly looked bad on video replays, Bucks coach Scott Skiles wasn't assuming the worst.

"He was in some pain, there's no question about that," Skiles said. "But again, you can't jump to any conclusions. We'll see what happens."

A flagrant foul was called on Stoudemire, and he was booed loudly by Bucks fans, but television replays showed what appeared to be relatively light contact with Bogut.

"The fans didn't have a clean view of what happened," Stoudemire said. "But I think once they see the replay they'll see that there was nothing intentional."

Jennings said he didn't think Stoudemire was trying to hurt Bogut.

"Amare doesn't seem like that type of person," Jennings said. "I think it was just an accident."

Bogut appeared to be in serious pain, briefly writhing on the floor before being helped to his feet by the team's medical staff. Hunched over and clutching his arm, he ran down the tunnel toward the locker room.

Bogut, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 draft, is having a standout season for the resurgent Bucks, averaging a team-high 15.9 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Bogut has shown ability on both ends of the court since he entered the league, but nagging injuries have hindered his development. The Australian star played only 36 games last season because of a back injury.

This one is arguably WORSE than the Shaun Livingston injury. Really hard to watch.

Although it wasn't as gruesome looking, this made me think of when Patrick took that spill onto his hand and broke it.

That push however slight was intentional and unnecessary and if you look at it--it was the cause of Bogut to go off balanced. Of course there is a mental thought of a defender to atleast get some kind of play on it but the push in the back--even slight when someone is in a position like that should be an automatic 5 games. That kills Milwaukee's great season

I saw the play live with my girl. The injury is definitely worse than a mere dislocation. He definitely torn up tissue in that elbow that will require surgery. Boguts arm went backwards.

Jennings is no doctor BTW. Bogut will need an MRI to determine the tissue damage.

The play was ALL Boguts fault. I don't even understand why he was trying to hang on the rim anyway. He slipped and braced his fall with his arm which is a big no no. Especially for big guys. Bogut could have easily dunked it with 1 hand which is why I was confused that he was trying to throw it down with two hands.

amare did push him in the back slightly and with his fwd momentum, he tried to hang in order to not fall flat on his back. he lost his grip in the process and fell perhaps even worse... why does fault matter at this point?

Bogut did not get high enough to finish and grab the rim. If he had not attempted to hang on the rim he would have been fine.

Dunking with two hands on a fast break is dangerous in general when trying to hang on the rim because your legs are going to swing forward whether you are pushed or not.

these guys like to do it for effect... slamming it down with 2 hands instead of 1 & hanging on the rim is unnecessary but u see guys do it all the time... i'm surprised this type of injury doesn't happen more often.

these kids were extremely lucky not to have broken their necks on these breakaway dunks

As TMS's videos pointed out dunking two handed and hanging on a fast break is risky business. I have seen guys get "hung" on the rim on a fast break trying to throw it down with two hands which results in the the same thing happening.

Sweaty hands dont help either.

it doesnt help if there is a dude behind you as in the syr clip or even the slight help amare gave. the other kid, simply lucky...

I understand that but when you are going to the rim and expecting contact there are certain things you just dont do unless you have serious hops. Basketball is a contact sport.

amare may take some heat (i dont think he tried anything bad)... thats why i stated i dont think blame is critical at this point. i understand what bogut tried to do once he was up, and sure understand y amare wasnt gonna try and catch a 7 foot 260+ dude coming down from a decent distance. poop happens, hope the dude will be ok.

Very true. I don't see the Amare "push" as that significant at all- his hands were just resting on his back, to be honest- incidental contact with little or not force behind his hands. Bogut needed to hold onto the rim, or just dunk it slightly with is fingertips and let go of the rim quickly- the kind of 2 handed dunk on the run that ends up with the ball hitting the player in the head. The only thing Amare's presence did was to make Bogut go to the basket a littler harder to beat him.

Tough play to watch
