I want to see more of this kid. Every time I see him in a game he is very active on both sides of the court. In the Memphis game he made such an impact then he went bye bye to the bench. What's the point of playing House in these games? Do the Knicks still hold out hope of landing the elusive 10th seed. You want to see what Sergio has ok fine but why does Toney take a back seat to House on this team? Even if you bring Sergio back as your starter you still need a backup for him. Toney should be getting 25 mins a night at a minimum for here on out. Walker is now getting 24 minutes. The guy has been here for a week. Come on.

I agree--he doesnt need to be labeled a PG--just a guy who plays hard. I think because they labeled him a PG they see him in a different light--let him take Nate's role--he is under contract--what is the obsession with House?

Can't play an undersized 2 on a team that switches on defense religiously. Only way he fits is if TMac is playing point and it seems like we only got one game of that since his knee's messed up again.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

He played well tonight in his limited minutes without T-Mac's help. Creating havoc on defense and running the fast break. Here is other thing, he's willing to take contact to get to the rim.

The House thing is so weird. D'Antoni went from a declaration of playing the young guys to trading one of them and putting the other guy back on the bench behind a journey man.

What the hell is House if not an undersized 2?

The Knicks are bad enough that they should just play their five best. Obviously having a 6'6" SG with Allan Houston's jumpshot and halfcourt game combined with Latrell Spreewell's athleticism and transition game would be ideal. Right now the Knicks should just be concerned with getting, uh, quality on the court. TD, right now, should definitely be considered as one of the five best today and is obviously one of the five best moving forward.

This should have been the policy from day 1. But that would have meant Harrington and Robinson starting so D'Antoni could not have that.

But what is wrong with having bench players come off the bench? What does D'Antoni have against that?

I have liked Douglas since draft night and I wish he would play more. In the postgame interview D'Antoni complimented Douglas but you could see that he was hedging how much action he would give him. I think House is playing because he is a veteran, a good role player, and MDA probably him back next year to come off the bench and shoot 3's.

Walker and TD would hopefully get you something like that. McGrady came out in the Memphis game and there was an initial drop but then they clicked and Toney was running and pushing no matter I did not watch. I'm just watching Gamecast and the flow link from Cosmic :) He jumps passing lanes. Denies his man the ball. Gives good help defense. He's no liability on the floor. And yes House was on the floor.

I listened to the post game. M'Da said he took a "huge step. Running the pick-and-roll. Creating" Hey coach...ummm he's doing all that whyn't ya give him a pat on the back, Encourage him then put his arse back out there? He might have knocked some three's down for you.

What was true for Hill is true for Douglas:

If the guy does not play and learn through actual game experience and his mistakes on the court, he is not going to grow as a player. We pretty much know what House can do... we have an idea what Sergio can do... we don't know what Douglas is able to do. Douglas should be getting 20-25MPG until the end of the season, no matter how poorly he is playing.

House is a much better pg at this stage than TD

True, except that House is still not a point guard regardless of who you compare him to. House is a 2 guard. That is his position.

Me to. I also wonder about Jordan Hill. The fact that this team has won 20-58, and the coach is still not playing the rookies makes no sense.

The point is not how good House is, but how good Douglas might, or might not, be. House is a finished product at this point in his career, while Douglas is still an unknown.

... and if we have the right guys playing on the perimeter we might not have to be switching all the time.

Another DNP and we are passed the trading deadline and way out of playoff contention. It's all good though. Got to get House those crucial minutes to get him ready for next season.

The Knicks are 2-6 w/McGrady they are making a run at the playoffs. There are no minutes for first round picks that play hard on defense and will be on the roster next year.

TMac's knee seems a lot better the last couple of games. I think taking it a bit easy is a good idea. The guy might actually be able to revive his career. He's clearly a leader and has amazing hoops IQ. I am starting to like him (if he will sign cheap for a year I say hell yes, let's get his bird rights back after we renounce him).
