For all of those who like all of that cap space and giving away Hill and the picks--what is your take on what Bosh is saying--and I think he knows first hand.

"Overhyped situations," Bosh said, "never play out the way you think it would."

I would put nothing in. Anything anyone who has a stake it is saying could just be him maneuvering for any host of reasons. Looking back on this post after the offseason may reveal some insight, but it's hard to know whether he legitimately means it or he has other motives in denying it.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Lol, well what is he going to say? "Screw you Toronto! Me and Bron Bron are building a dynasty in NY!!!"

None of these top tier players are going to come out and say that there will be change because they will look like jerks to their fans if they say that.

Either way, we'll find out in a few months.

I will say this though, never before have we had a free agent class like this and never before has the team with the biggest stage (NY) offered the league's best player an opportunity to essentially bring over the players he wants (potentially adding another top 50 player of all time in the process).

LeBron could very well stay in Cleveland but there will certainly be temptation and you would have to think that if LeBron wants to differentiate himself from past stars (something he seems to want to do), then coming to NY to build a dynasty with another superstar would fit that description.

"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

Yeah, that column was a bunch of ambiguous, double-talk from cats that want to downplay the idea that they could bolt to another team. If the potential free agents were so resolute in staying with their respective teams, they would have done it already and avoided the hassle.

They are testing the market for a reason.

Of course people that have the opinion that Walsh is making is a horrible mistake will latch on to columns like this, when they're no different than the "Lebron is definitely coming to NY, because his third cousin on his moms side said so" bullshyt.

Now that there is the truth. We don't know what these players will ultimately decide to do. But we do know they all had max extensions lined up to be signed and they all refused them.

All they had to do was sign the extensions. But they didn't. Why?

Well, we'll find out this summer.

And again even if the top guys don't come we absolutely had to tear this roster down and start over. If 2010 was the worst FA crop in history we still had to tear down this mess and start over.

We're doing the right thing.

What the final outcome happens to be is anyone's guess but we had to tear it apart.

Yep. I mean I can understand being a lil' uncomfortable with the amount of assets we gave up just to dump Jared Jeffries, but whats good with this incessant pessimism? More than likely we're gunna walk away with some good talent after this offseason. This is no less risky than hoping the lottery balls fall our way every year and the players we draft develop.

This is the way we're going now. We have a shot. Why cant we just hope for the best?

I have been saying it for a long time, I dont think Lebron is leaving Cleveland. However, if the Knicks hadn't cleared enough room to sign him and another max FA and he did leave Cleveland for somewhere else, I would be pretty pissed.

At least we have the opportunity to throw some $$$ at him - do I think we mortgaged our future yet again to have that opportunity? Yes. Is money going to be enough to get Lebron here? I dont think so, I think you need a good supporting cast and giving those picks away regardless if we get him or not will hurt our chances to win.

There is good and bad to the entire situation and as always there are no guarantees.

Don't you worry BB Jones, there is a plan. We have a core. We have the ability, and more importantly, the cap space and dollars, to be in a better position next season. We also hav intangibles, Sergio, McGrady and Forgive me, Curry. Walsh is commited to bringig talent to this team.

True, but what we did not have was a good reason for why LeBron could win more in NY than in Cleveland. With that extra max contract slot, we now present LeBron with an opportunity to join forces with another future hall of fame player to potentially create a dynasty. Before the McGrady trade it was all about "LeBron loves the attention and wants to come to the big stage, etc." Now, you add all of that to the notion that we present LeBron with a better opportunity to win multiple titles than Cleveland does and you have to believe that LeBron will seriously consider jumping ship. Don't underestimate how important that is BRIGGS.

For all that we hear about LeBron wanting to be the biggest sports icon of all time, don't you think he has a better shot of doing that by winning multiple titles in NY with Bosh by his side?

If Cleveland got Amare, it obviously would have been different. They didn't get him though and are now very much handicapped in terms of what they can do to add a younger star to play with LeBron. You think an expiring contract alone can net Cleveland a young star? If the answer was yes, Amare would be a Cav right now. Expirings only help get older veterans and that is all Cleveland can do at this point besides hoping that they draft a stud with a late first round pick.

This isn't Star Wars. If Lebron wanted to come to NY--he will come to NY. Would it matter if it was David Lee or Bosh--come on.

BRIGGS, I love David Lee as much as anyone but you and I both know Chris Bosh is on a higher level than David Lee is.

If you disagree with that, then I don't know what to say.

Bosh + LeBron = possible dynasty
Lee + LeBron = possible championship or two depending on the players around them
