I created a spreadsheet, and did some computations, and I determined what LeBron's compensation would be if he left Cleveland and came to new york.

First, I took the square root of the base year compensation and multiplied it times the coefficient of the contract in it's entirety. By subtracting the lesser of the amounts resulting from a quadratic equation thus derived, I determined what the equality formula for the comparison operator would be (X * Y) = (A*B - Z / (Y-D)).

I also included his potential outside earnings (advertising, endorsements, brothels, etc.) I calculated this by taking the number of potential years advertising revenue, and multiplying it by PI and applying regressive analysis.

(X * Y) = (A*B - Z / (Y-D)) + (PI * G / R).

By performing these calculations, I determined what LeBron's total compensation would be. The results are below:

LeBron plays for Cleveland : Sixty million dollars
LeBron plays for New York : One sack of potatoes.

Based on these calculations, I think Lebron will choose Cleveland. What do you guys think?

yeah but you forgot to square the PI prior to applying the regressive analysis...

I tweaked my calculations a bit and determined that the sack of potatoes in question would be five pounds, and it would be filled with the "Russet" variety of potato.

completely fails to account for what a sack of potatoes is really worth in the NYC market. good analysis though.

People say New York is better than Cleveland, but when you do the math it is proved to be the exact opposite. Nice work, BBJ.

Adjusting for hyperinflation over the next 5 years 1 sack of potatoes >> 60 Million worthless paper dollars. So Lebron's coming to NY after all.

The NBA cap rules won't allow it.

Figured I'd better bump this for those who didn't see it - further discussion of LeBron's potential contract is pointless.

Well, since they're Russet taters, I could see him coming to NYC.
