not gonna be remorseful about losing Fishlips cuz of his contract, but damn, we gave Darko away to save $1.8 mil & guys were lauding that trade like it was a great move on Donnie's part... just don't get that one at all.

For the Timberwolves, the biggest surprise of the night was the play of Darko Milicic(notes). The former No. 2 overall draft pick was acquired from the Knicks in a trade last week and played for the first time in more than three months.

He was on the floor when Minnesota played its best basketball and finished with eight points and eight rebounds in a season-high 19 minutes of action.

see, that's your typical cop out response to a legitimate question... we had Darko on the bench all year & yet MDA refused to use him over scrubs like Bender who could barely run up & down the court w/o toppling over... our biggest need was for shotblocking in our frontcourt to cover for Lee's pisspoor defense & we refuse to use our only shotblocking big off the bench... does that make sense to u?

I agree. Milicic is definitely a bust but he is no worse than Bender.

I said it all year that we should play Darko.

So...you're wrong about my POV on this topic.

I wanted to start him at Center and keep him there good or bad game.

I also wanted to start Hughes and keep him at SG regardless of a bad game.

But, well, Mike wouldn't do it.

I felt we needed to go with

Darko
Lee
Harrington
Hughes
Duhon

And let them gut it out win or loss. You work the other players in as backups over time. Not fumble around a starting lineup.

But well...that's all moot now.

C'mon man if your gonna stir a pot may as well turn up the heat.

Yeah...that's a +35 +/-

Its funny because the Knicks get a third string point guard who goes out and gets 5 pts and 6 assists in his first game and some people are comparing him to Steve Nash. A guy who was the second pick in the NBA draft when LBJ, Melo and Bosh were drafted doesn't play all year for a coach who won't play bigs but when given a chance gets 8pts 8 rebs in his first action in three months after he was dumped for waiver fodder and fans aren't supposed to notice or question why he was moved.

i'm not gonna blame DW for the whole trade for Darko/trade Darko away situation, cuz it was MDA who chose never to play the guy... so this goes on the head coach... not a huge deal but i always thought Darko could make some positive contribution off the bench as a defensive presence in the paint, something we were terribly lacking in all year long... would we have won more games? who knows, but i do know for sure he or Jordan Hill would have been a better option than Bender... i don't think that's even debateable.

& before some idiot comes on & ridicules any fans who are crying over the almight Darko being traded, this is not about that... it's just the principle of trying to make sense out of the roster decisions this franchise makes... we trade for a guy to come in & be a defensive shotblocking presence this season & then he gets no playing time cuz the coach doesn't like his attitude, so we end up trading him to save a few bucks off the luxury tax which was pretty much akin to buying him out of his contract... just don't see the point in these types of moves... if u bring someone in on a trade or use a lottery pick to take someone, wouldn't it make some sense to actually play these guys? seems pretty logical to me.

Sergio was a -6 last nite & you got peeps calling him Nash Lite... Darko was a +35 in his first game, i think it's fair to note that Darko was a piece that could have helped this team off the bench if given a chance.
