I think it's just a natural skill. T-mac is one of those guys who can average 20 points a game while sleepwalking. But I think Gallo and Chandler can learn a few thing from T-Mac about pacing and keeping the defense off balance. T-Mac knows when to drive, when to pull up and when to pass. Those are things that can't be learned from watching Al Harrington throw trash up from game to game.
Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.

I'm hoping that Wilson Chandler can learn something from TMac, and also gain some confidence and swagger from him. Actually the whold team can learn what it takes to get to the next level of their games from him IMO.

I think we have the person Donnie and Mike wanted to have as they offered Hill and Kidd those contracts. Its a guy who can teach Gallo and Chandler that its about the mind and not only the skill.
Chandler could learn the most from him, cause his mindset is the one of a roleplayer, while his physical and BBall abilitys are that of an Allstar. Gallo is another thing. He knows what needs to be done on the court, but was fully infected by the loosers mentality of this teams awfullness. So maybe TMac can just go in and lead by example. And btw: I think that House could be anotherone of those mental different makers. Lets just put it under the "veteran leadership" category and hope for a good 29 games learning experience. |

Hmmm maybe T-Mac can teach them how to collect 20 mil per year while playing 30 games a season. Or better yet maybe he can teach them how to lead your team to consecutive first round exits. So many choices Chandler and Gallo are truly learning from the best.
Leadership and T-Mac in the same sentence is an oxymoron |

Papabear Says You may have an ax to grind with T Mack and that's ok but you can't deny that he is a superstar and just maybe Chandler and Gallo might pick up something positive in T Macks game. You may not like him but you can't deny that the man has game. As far as the money basketball is a business and you get what you can. Papabear

He's old, very over-paid, and injury-prone. Why in the world would I have an ax to grind? So "he's got game" as you call it but he's such a poison that Houston didn't even want him sitting on their bench that should tell you something. Wait were you one of those fans voting for him in the All-Star game over guys like Brandon Roy? |

Papabear Says Ahh Excuse me but who on this Knicks team is better than T Mack?? Who in the last 10 years did we pick up who is better than T Mack. He may be worn down a little but when the game is on the line, who do you want to give the ball to?? Lee" Gallo" Harrington? Chandler? Who? Papabear

In the past 2 and half season T-Mac has played a combined a whopping 42 games and you call that "a little worn down"? I thought the Knicks were suppose to be developing Chandler and Gallo now with them getting a combined 20 shots between them I expect their development to regress at least until T-Mac's next season-ending injury.

TMac was forcing it to try and help his team win. He shouldve shut it down and not played hurt. H2O did the same thing and he wasn't able to get back. TMac may just get there and if he does he can help to give the young guys confidence and a winning swagger.
Last night we battled a team that is very good defensively and they had a tough time stopping us with no practice time together. Think of what TMac n House can teach our kids about the mental part of the game. House is a much better player now since his time in Boston. He plays hard now and with a real swagger that Gallo n Chan need to adopt. |

Because we got him here until the end of the season . By the way none of you could answer who was better than T Mack that we had in the Last 10 Years and some of you are still complaining. You may not like him but guess what?? You have to live with it or just stop watching and talking about Knicks games. Papabear

NO one on the knicks roster is better than tmac, When he had the ball he caused damage, and if Mike dan-moron woulda played him in OT we wouldve won. He attracted the double teams and made great passes. |

i think bitty has a point, T-Mac has never been known to be a leader & yet u guys are pinning your hopes on him to be one w/the Knicks... not a good gamble... but then, taking bad risks seems to be the norm around here of late, so probably not surprising.
T-Mac is here for 1 purpose & 1 purpose only, he wants to show he can still play... he knows he wouldn't get as much of an opportunity to do that on any contending teams right now, & there is no bigger stage than on Broadway... this is his perfect opportunity to get himself on the ESPN highlights & show other GM's he can still ball... he can say all he wants that he came here to help these guys learn & develop but that's all just politically correct BS just like Donnie & MDA shell out on a nightly basis... just enjoy what u can get out of him these next 28 games cuz he's probably playing elsewhere next season (unless of course Dolan falls in love w/the guy down the stretch this year & demands he be re-signed to a longterm extension, which is distinctly possible) After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Tracy McGrady can be a floor director from the backcourt
at 30 years old, he can help settle the baby frontcourt of Gallo and Chandler and is not Jared Jeffries one more thing if Grant Hill can return to be a productive player after a bazillion operations on both ankles, Tracy McGrady can return to be a productive player for the Knicks for the next two seasons. Please don't attempt to argue this point for one simple reason... If everyone here was capable of predicting McGrady's performance, at least one person would have predicted that he would have 26 points in his first game back. once a knick always a knick
