He's doing well on one of the worst teams in the NBA.
What exactly do you want the media to do?
They like good players on GOOD teams.
Not some guy that's scoring on a crappy team because you know what that brings up? "Well, someone has to score."
And it's the truth.
As to Chandler he has shown flashes of very good play this season. It's not as consistent as I'd like it to be. There are times when he reverts to just a dumb style of chucking deep shots and stepping out of bounds for stretches here and there. But hopefully those will go away come next season.
He's a pretty decent player but let's not get ahead of ourselves and anoint him a superstar let alone an allstar. He's not. He's a decent player right now and that's about it. He's done well but his overall skillset has just about reached it's ceiling. All you can think of is that as he matures and gains more experience that he will be more savvy.
Yet the guy isn't going to pull some new found skillset out of nowhere. Chandler does now what he did when he was a rookie. He's just a bit better at it is all. And you hope with experience it continues to get a bit better each year. But, again, let's not put this guy on some sort of pedestal he doesn't belong.
He's a complimentary player, a role player...not a franchise player...not a guy you rely on to carry your team to victories night in and night out.
He could prove to be a nice piece as we build this new team however.
