We are about to get T-Mac for the one and only guy on our team that plays a lick of defense. Just felt like adding to my own pain from the Knicks.

Damn, I was waiting for somebody to drop the "why did we just give up Jared Jeffries" line. Congrats, sir. You've got balls, fam.

We need to go 22-9 to be .500 and have a reasonable chance at being a playoff team. TMac could average 30 ppg and we still can't play at that level. The seasons been over for a quite some time.

Yes sir I do. Not that I wanted Jefferies. Just saying, if anyone thought Pricey McGrady was saving us, we traded our only player who plays defense, for him.

I forgot how many wins Jeffries presence on the team provided us.

Hey man, I'm not saying he helped us win games. I'm just saying, we traded away the one and only guy who can play defense on the team, for Tracy McGrady. We went from 1 guy to no guys. Douglas doesn't count because he doesn't play.

I think you need to look at all of the angles here. By the end of the week Harrington, Nate, and Hughes will be gone. D'Antoni will have no more strife and no expectations because,' there will be no way that he can salvage things' after all of the moves that were made. The Knicks will no longer have rookies with any expectations for years to come so D'Antoni will not be criticized for not playing his young guys depite his team being horrible. If Walsh's plan works D'Antoni will be able to fulfill his destiny and stand on the sidelines watching good players do what good players do, win. It won't matter that his training camp is a joke and doesn't prepare the players for the season because they will be so talented they will not need a coach. It will not matter that he will try to play a gimmicky offense and no defense because their talent will transcend bad coaching and poor communication. It will not matter that D'Antoni only plays guys with a character profile that suits his personality/communication style because these guys will fit that profile and be the best players on the planet. However, I hope Walsh at least considers this, what if the plan doesn't work? He has to know that he signed a guy to coach his team that is not capable of being successful unless spoon fed a roster of highly talented, self motivated, high character perennial all stars.

I dont think anyone is naive enough to believe McGrady is here to revive this season. He's here because of the cap space he brings with him. Nothing to do with this season, except to see if anything is left in the tank.

We're a terrible defensive team so it's not like Jared Jeffries makes an impact. And nobody should expect Tracy McGrady to save this team. He's just an expiring contract and should be treated as such.

I actually don't want Tracy McGrady to play too well here. I do not want to resign a hasbeen with a poor attitude.

isnt that the kind of guy mega stars want to play for? Or do Lebron and Amare want to run 3 a days till they puke so a new comber like Mark JAckson can make it "his team" ???? I dont care if all those things are true and his mother is a whore. If its a factor in bringing star FAs here then thats really all that matters.

Anyone who believes any move Donnie Walsh has made the past two years were meant to revitalize the team or save a season are way WAY AllanFan'd

Donnie has done a miraculous job, especially if he pulls off today's trades, to put an end to the mistakes of the past, and give the team a chance to start from scratch. Something that was a must. And something he was brought in to do.

What happens after that is secondary. How we build the team into a winner with our new found flexibility is a topic for another day.

THe game yesterday pretty much showed that this team has once again mailed it in. No fight in them. No defense.

Just another bone to to throw at jonesing knicks fans. Management had some getting ready to buy Jonathan Bender jerseys after his 1st couple of games back in the league.Remember

Miraculous is pretty strong for this GM. By making the draft choices that he's made, one has to say that he is less then perfect. A season and a half later, we still have no serviceable point guard. By trading Hill, he is second guessing himself. By not playing Curry he's stuck with him for another year. These are not the acts of a Miracle worker

The draft is always a crapshoot once you pick beyond the top handful of picks.

Not playing Curry? Curry CANT play.
Trading Hill? Hill's nothing.
No Point Guard? We're trying to tear down the team not lock up players to long term deals. That comes later. Besides who is this mystery franchise PG Walsh failed to sign?

Yes, it IS miraculous to see a man come in here and remove players who were pretty tough to get rid of.

Yes, it IS miraculous to see a man understand that this recycling of expirings we witness the past 9 years was an absolute failure and that it had to stop - and he damn well put a stop to it.

Yes, it IS miraculous to see the team have an excellent chance to build a winner from the ground up starting in a mere few months.

Yes, it IS miraculous.

Why this vision eludes so many is confusing to me.

absolutely agree with fish. i don't care what course of action it takes to get 2 mega-stars, but if we get them this offseason i don't care if my mother needs to be traded to get it done. when/if we get those guys, they don't want to be playing for a dictator, they want to be playing for a guy just like miked which is why is EXACTLY why he was a coach of the olympic team.
