Huge improvement... he didn't post in the third person

Maybe it wasn't a great post in that Hall of Fame sense. But it was a great post relative to his other posts

What happened to him? He wasn't as good as the others who lit it up. End of story.

I actually think he did better than I expected because outside of a select few...big men usually don't do well in these competitions. They get tired.

I felt Frye and Gallo would bomb. Gallo didn't bomb necessarily but he just didn't have enough to hit the extra couple of shots to advance. Still looked just fine though.

I thought it was Kenny Smith last night who said he didn't think Gallo wouldn't do well because he is used to coming off screens, that he wasn't a set shooter.

Has he watched a Knick game?

Honestly, after the way he hurt his shooting arm, surprised he did as well as he did.

I thought on the first rack - it was his first shot that, if I recall, went through and barely touched net. It was down hill from there.

I really don't like Gallo, and from an Italian, that's saying something. I just think this guy's going to be a tease for the duration of his time here. He's a poor man's Turkoglu, and where's that going to get us really?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Walsh should have kept him home to rest up his arm, which may be more of an issue than we have been told. Supposedly happened in early December and it has surfaced again? Gallinari is a gamer, but the problems he has had shooting at times, especially the drop-off at the foul line, where he excelled last year (even with a bad back), would be alarming to me if I was Walsh or MDA.

A foolish thread, by the way. Plenty of other Gallinari hate threads to choose from- didn't need to start one about that most important of NBA events, the 3 point contest. And I am not sure how the 3 point event relates to 4th quarter performance. Perhaps you could explain.

Don't go there!!! I like Gallo and I want him to be the best he can be. But is it good enough to lead this team if we get no Lebron , no Wade, no Bosh??
All I want to know is can he be the man to go to in the 4th quarter to take over a game. That does mean doing what ever it takes to win a game.

Because we all have high hopes for this guy. I'm not hatting Gallo. He is a good player but can he move to the next level? Even if he can't there is a place for him on this team but we all had higher expectations of him.

I'm not as down on him as you are, but I really question the idea that he is this untouchable, future franchise cornerstone. He looks like he will be a third option on a very good team.

I suspect his back started hurting him, or his legs stiffened up. Something like that happened, otherwise, he woulda won.

The 3pt contest is just one of those things where you get hot at the right time you can win. All of the contestants can really shoot it from 3. Gallo just didn't have a good run, but if you ran that same contest every day I guarantee there'd be a different winner each time. Unless you're talking Bird, most of these guys are about the same. They get hot, they get cold, it's a toss up as to when that's gonna happen.

In terms of Gallo as a player, I just think people have to give the kid a chance to get going. Not yet having played 82 games in his career so far, I think it's a bit early to worry about him. With young talented guys like Dirk who didn't even look this good at the same point, you need more time to really know what they're gonna be. My guess is that Gallo will be a successful part of our future. No he's not a superstar right now, but who knows if he won't develop into that kind of player. No one thought Dirk was gonna be the MVP winner he became.

Why can't we just be happy that we have some young players with some upside? Guys that have NBA skills, size, athletic ability and they're good kids! We'd have a much better opinion of these kids with time and a better cast of players on the team to complement them and perhaps lead them better. We are missing that leader or coach on the floor young players need.

I agree with you with one notable exception: Crag Hodges. Craig Hodges was the most freaky lights out 3 point shooter I ever did see.

Ladies and Germs, I present to you Craig Hodges!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I always likes Hodges. I wished the Knicks had picked him up back in the day. It seems like his career just faded away.

He was blackballed from the league because of his pro-Black views. The main culprit was Jordan who wanted him out of the league.
