I really think if Lee would have made the all star team it would have helped attract a all star and give the team more credibility.

I really do hope Stern is going to re-evaluate this voting process. The fact that it took AI (who didn't deserve to be there to begin with) dropping out for Lee to get in pretty much shows the process is broken.

I think if Lee averaged 30 points 14 rebounds and 8 assists a game people would bitch and moan about his defense and his contract. Pretty sure about that.

Funny how youguys are killing Lee. Kobe and shaq come out publicly said David deserved it. Lebron told him he should be there as did Duncan and Bosh. He is gaining respect around the league from future HOF so he must be doing something right.

Which is kind of sad because he did this while playing no defense so don't expect David Lee to start caring or playing defense in the future.

How many players are there in the league that can do what DLee does offensively that are ALSO great defenders?

I'm guessing most of those guys are considered max contract players. DLee will get paid to do what he does. Maybe he'll come back next season having worked on defense.

He is definitely earning his $7 M this season and through all the losing has never whined or done anything knuckleheaded.

I think if we just

- were paying someone else the $13M Larry Hughes is getting paid, the $10.5 M owed to Curry, the $10M owed to Al Harrington, and the 9.5 M owed to Mobley we could somehow survive DLee's porous defense. I'm not even counting Darko's 7.5M.

The $33 M going to those players could go to

$13M Chris Paul
$15M Dwight Howard
$6.6M Shawn Marion


giving us

PG: Chris Paul, Duhon
SG: Chandler, Nate
SF: Marion, Gallo
PF: DLee, Jefferies
C: DHoward, Jordan Hill,

We are paying David Lee LESS than Darko this season. I get that DLee has his flaws but I don't think his lack of defense is the reason why we suck.

a stat-padder like Lee who has little impact on games does not deserve to be at the all-star game...especially considering his team is awful.

but hey whatever, congrats to him. now he can get his 13 mill this summer from someone else.

Replace DLee name with Z-Bo and explain to me what's the difference? Both are now all-stars and they both don't care about post defense. Not hating but the criticism is justified. My reaction to Z-Bo getting the all-star nod is pretty much the same. DLee is averaging .4 blocks a game. It is the perfect environment for him to showcase himself because defense isn't expected.
