It is still hitting at 2-3" per hour. I re-did the driveway and that takes about 40 minutes. By the time i was done we had a fresh 2" where i had started.

Meanwhile some pics:


Earlier today:

This car was clean just after 4PM, after I took that one video earlier today. This photo is at 8PM, that's 12" you're looking at.

Piles on the side of the driveway. Yeah, that's a lot of snow.


Still dumping like crazy:


Road has 16" in it and it was clear at 1pm or so. And that's heavy wet snow that's compacted on itself.

We're around 21-22" for the event total so far including the early AM burst.


This puts me over 80" for the season thus far. Three huge blizzards (28, 18, 22 and counting) and a handful of 1-3 inchers.

Damn, just got back from the beach. Its a chilly 65 here in Diego so people around here are naturally upset and disappointed. Hopefully we will be able to brave through this extreme weather and get back to our normal 68-70 degree days.

I have done the same. I am banged up.

Three shots of Jack, two beers, 2 painkillers, and I'm doing okay.

Probably won't be all that chipper in the AM. But what are you going to do. Not looking forward to the wall of death the plows will seal me up with though. Street has 16-18 of heavy wet snow in it. Oh well.

It was nice day and cool weather.
Some memories when I was a kid in Russia.
4-5" of snow almoust every day for 4 month - a lot of fun.
This storm is just pinuts.
When you get 20" in 4 hours and snowflakes are as big as popcorn with wind and -10F you start feeling it.
Just tke 2 double shots straight and fight the snow.... Yehhh...

At least I got a nice deltoid workout today. I would say I got in 4 and a half hours of shoveling today. I have to do more tomorrow too. It's still snowing hard!

It just won't END

At least at this point it's so deep and heavy it's compacting as it's accumulating.

Plus the per-hour rates seem to have dropped to 1" or so.

Still, got a few more hours of this likely. It's drying out on the western edge but the band over NYC to coastal NJ just keeps reinvigorating.

Eventually it will lose it's support and will fall apart. Eventually.....lol.

Oh and yeah, it is a great workout. I got a tune up on the 6th when I had 18" and ended up shoveling 3 driveways. So it went smooth. NOT looking forward to the plowed wall of doom though. They still haven't passed since 1PM. Got about 16-18" of heavy wet snow on the roads. That won't be fun when they seal me in with that.

You lucky bastards. I have been waiting all winter to bust out my XC skis and snowshoes, but the effing storms keep going south of me. I'd love to have a fresh foot of snow on the ground. This winter is whack with all these mid-Atlantic blizzards.

This season's El Nino set this up. Next winter looks like La Nina so I think northern areas will return to normal snowfall. Still a chance our pattern changes in March giving the North a taste of it's normal winter. We'll see.

Meanwhile...

Good lord. A plow got stuck in front of my house. LOL.

You can see him trying to dig out with a shovel. When your plow guy needs to dig himself out it's not good. You can see my neighbor tearing stuff up in his SUV trying to cram himself into his driveway.

Haha. Thats the thing. The weather stays consistent throughout the whole year. The temperature rarely jumps out of the 60-85 degree range. Our summers are generally cooler than ya'll's. Its ridiculous out here.
