F isiah! he doesn’t deserve good people like jerome. i didn’t see jerome cost us 4 #1's like f'g marbury and curry did. I didn’t see him cost us trevor ariza like stevie f’g franchise did. I didn’t see him cost us andrew bynum like the drafting of channing f’g frye did. tell isiah to put the bird back in the cage and quit his f’g chirping.

We could have been contendahs!!!!!! Could have been sombody!

In the game you get some right and some wrong. Reezy, Nate, Dlee, Wilson, all good picks. solid picks, and some trades like KVH, Mo Taylor, etc kind of sucked but its gonna happen with the best of GM's.

But, Two trades doomed us: Eddy and Ma Bu Li!

I understand his logic at the time but as a GM he should have one insight that fans don't and thats the guys personality, heart and desire. He failed miserably on both accounts.

Even little old Nalod was beaming with disgust that he could be so gulliable to take on Jerome James!!!

PHuck Isiah!

blame Francis on Larry Brown (aka Magoo), who brought him in to play head games with steph. Went wrong when the 2cancers became Gemini's

Isiah drafted well, its everything else he did bad

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Disgusting how Isiah Thomas tries to justify the Stephon Marbury trade as a salary dump.

The thing that struck my nerves the most was that he said he had to get Marbury to fill up the garden because he said it was empty and nobody was coming. Please. Maybe it wasn't selling out anymore, but people have always come to Knick games.

The problem is that the fanbase itself is becoming diminuative. Isiah definitely contributed to that.

My thoughts exactly.
If anything, attendance hit a low point during Isiah's LATER years when they were getting blown out
by 30 points in the 2nd quarter, and the only entertainment at the garden was chanting "FI-re Is-AI-ah!"

Yeah, but the sad thing is that in Isiahs LAST YEAR, the attendance was very high. I remember that specifically because Isiah kept reminding us that the team was a success because of that.

When he traded for Marbury when Frank Williams was growing on the garden faithful, he got on my bad side.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Frank WIlliams was still getting a little playing time, and even played in the playoffs that year. He turned into a nothing though. The two things that really killed us in that trade had nothing to do with Frank Williams though. It was the fact that we gave up two draft picks.

Failures generally try to rewrite history to save face.

The Marbury trade was fine. I still remember this board the day of the trade and the thread went like 30 pages in a few days...Cats were geeked around here.

It was the Eddy deal that sunk us.

Yeah, back then it was great. Marbury was on the brink of becoming a hall of fame player. I don't think Isiah knew what he was getting into when he got this guy. He still has to hold some responsibility for it though. It was his move. Eddie was also bad, but think of this...

We were on the cusp of having capspace by 2007. That was when Allan Houston's contract would expire. I believe LeBron and them were also free agents (Granted, they were restricted) that year. If we just kept ourselves on the path we were on. Let the fat trim itself off, and build ourselves on picks, we could possibly be a contender now.

The Marbury trade put an end to that. Curry, Randolph, Jerome and Jared only added to it.

If I recall Franks mother had passed away all around the same time, he played well, he even stood up to J.Kidd when others on the team wouldn't.

The problem is that with Alan's incredibly downward swift spiral that ended in retirement left a leadership void that Steph Head was allowed to fill. If Alan the surgery that was supposed to extend his career hadn't killed it Alan would have been the leader. The whole chemistry and locker room atmosphere would have been different.

Steph took Alan's place as the face of the franchise but lacked the intelligence and tools necessary.

Steph was never a people person (check NJ & Pho,) though he has always had a lot of love (buying car's for rooks).

IT's failure there was not bringing in a true leader. This team was full of weak personalities like Eddy Curry, Jacky Butler, Sweets, Frank Williams. Guys with talent but lacking the drive or necessary will.
