As a simmering Larry Hughes left the visitor's locker room late Sunday night in Minnesota sporting a new beard, he said his facial hair growth was related to his banishment from the rotation.

When will he shave it?

"When I get out of jail," Hughes cracked.

Just STFU and sit there and collect your money which is more than you ever deserved whether you play or not.
Consider yourself blessed, and be a f**king professional.
I'm so sick of these self-entitled prima donnas.
If you didn't SUCK you'd be playing.

I love the guy. He says he is "in Jail" and growing a beard in protest!

Thats some hard core devotion to rise up against the supressive white devil and show the solidarity for those suffering around the world with self sacrifice of not taking a razor to his face!!!

People around the world are starving, people are dying, people are incarcerated for religious or political beliefs but this mental midget is feeling some serious injustice!

Note to Larry: Your career is over! You made millions and your at best a vet minimum contract next year but your killing that cuz you won't be a veteran leadership kind of guy who takes care of things in practice and in the locker room.

China league awaits your sorry ass!

The guy had 3 decent weeks of play in 1.5 seasons with us. And somehow he thinks he is entitled to something. He still thinks he is a good player. He is below average in just about everything... to include his so called "defense". He has one of the worse shots in basketball, no arc whatsoever.

in short.. The guys is a cancer in the locker room and a turnover machine on the court with horrible shot selection and no discipline.
We all know he is not getting traded because who would covet such a worthless asset.

He will never sniff another contract close to 5 Mill a year. He is a JOKE...

Why did Walsh trade for this guy if they weren't going to play him? He was a disappointment for the Bulls too and its not like the trade was some sort of necessary means-to-an-end kinda move.

We needed a SG and Hughes is one. He's played well at times but he's been hurt. Now he's whining and needs to go.

We turned 3 roster spots into 1 without cutting a player.

The players we sent out weren't staying here past this season anyway.

It was no big loss. You might see Walsh try to trade him for another 2010 gamble.

Getting pretty meaningless to bitch about Hughes though. Season is winding down. He'll be gone.

Its not about the season, its about the sense of entitlement that pro-athletes have.

I guess I'm just kind of passionate about calling out prima donnas.

EXPIRING CONTRACT at the guard spot! If you get lucky he has a good run and helps. We didn't get much from him but I understand taking a shot. We just have a few more months to put up with losers like him and then it's over. Thank God it's over!

From what I can remember we didnt trade any long term contracts for him. We brought him in with the idea that he was going to help the team in the short term.

Walsh already admitted it was a mistake to break up the team last year when Timmy was playing well.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I think Hughes should have been put in a game this weekend and see what he can do. It's not like Bender in doing anything and Harrington was out. Again, MDA using too short of a rotation IMO. When one bench player isn't getting it done, try another. That is what they are there for.

However, I agree with the other posters - Larry Hughes whines too much for a veteran who's best playing days are behind him. But MDA takes this way too personal and this hurts his coaching substitution choices.

He's equating collecting eight-figures while sitting on a bench to "jail"?

Really?

Never hated Timmy. He could get on your nerves but I don't think he was ever the special player people kept demanding him to be throughout his career.

I still understand the trade and I doubt that trade scuttled any playoff hopes. It didn't work out no big deal. We would have had roster spot difficulty however once the draft hit in June that's for sure.

Over and done with and Hughes won't be here much longer either.

I've stopped getting on this team and it's players and looked more towards the season closure and 2010 and beyond.

If you're a competitive, professional athlete then yeah the frustration level could be comparable. Not necessarily the conditions.

1. He's really not competing. Have you seen his shooting percentage?
2. You're comparing coming to the game stretching, shooting some baskets, sitting in the front row and routing your teammates on, while waiting for your number to be called, and going home in your Lambo, or whatever he drives, to a phat crib with every toy imaginable before going out to the best restaurants in the world with hot bimbos throwing themselves at you because your pockets are stuffed, to being confined to a dreary 6'x 8' jail cell and eating slop?

um, wha?!
